Cobra RadSpeed, RadSpeed XB drivers (in-hand look)

Cobra shaft game always strong. Happy to see they added LAGP as an option. Not surprising with the Bryson connection.

I’ve never tried or put a cobra club in the bag before but think this year I will give it a try. The matte finish looks really clean. Glad they didn’t over do the design on the top/crown.

Interesting that Woodland is using the XB which, according to Cobra, is aimed at 5-15 handicaps. Just shows how the handicap guidance on clubs is fairly pointless.

 

Historically I've had success with Cobra drivers though haven't played one for around 5 years. I'm looking forward to trying the Radspeed though. Here in Canada the Cobra is $150 cheaper that the Titleist Tsi. Given it also comes with real deal shafts, I wonder how much better the Titleist could be that it would justify that much extra cost.

I really do love my f8 fairway, but the rad seems like it corrected the few issues I have with it. 

 

 

It definitely could be different between us. Something as simple as the way it sits behind the ball can even cause different strokes to be put on it.

 

As always I highly recommend hitting them as I was also set on an xb but after 20 shots it wasn't really doing it for me so I added in the regular rad and hit them back and forth before finally settling on the regular.

 

I will say the difference in forgiveness between weight back regular and xb is really close so I would almost let your spin needs dictate which head you need.

decided to place an order for the 3 wood as well, and I'll keep the xb order as is. going to be a tough job unseating my f8 fairway, but should be fun trying.

I thought about that color for my xb but one pic makes it look gloss and I want matte.

I don't think the XB is offered in matte unless you go with the Blue and Red colorway.  I think the lime/black combo in the XB and XD are gloss and the lime/Black in the Rad Speed is matte.

I just hit all the cobra woods.  Maybe it was a perfect fit, but the big tour 3 wood was hands down the best club I've ever hit.  The driver is an upgrade from my f8+ but it didn't blow me away like the 3 wood did.  I did like it better than the sim2 and ts2 I hit as well.

 

Interestingly enough I really liked the hzdrs blue in the xb head.  I was fit previously for the motore f3 stiff, but when testing today I hit the hzdrs straighter and longer.  I tried the same hzrdus blue in the regular head, but was hitting it straighter, lower and longer with the xb head.  

 

For reference my club head speed today was between 108-111.  My current handicap is 1.3.

I’m going for a fitting a week from this Friday. If I wind up going with Cobra, I think I like the blue head better. I’m going in with an open mind but so far from what little testing I’ve done, either Cobra head with the RDX Blue is going to be tough to beat.

Ordered my driver and 3 wood yesterday with RDX blue. I’m high spin so it’ll be interesting to see if they stick or if the synergy greens get thrown in. I ordered mine an inch long. Anyone have tipping recommendations? TT site says 0 and .5 but didn’t know if anyone has seen anything else.

Does anybody know if the turbulence colorway is flat or gloss crown? It looks good in gray.
