Welcome to the site. I'm about an hour south of Erie. Played a course there called Whispering Woods (I think) there last year. Some narrow holes on that course if I remember correctly. Many trees...

Yep whispering woods is a great public course and very challenging. I play it a handful of times a year. It’s easy from the fairways but tee shots are difficult if you are not striking it well. Definitely try the wilsons probably the best set I’ve ever played. I can see some people thinking they are too big to their eye but they play like tour irons for me with a ton of forgiveness

Currently playing the C300 forged. The D7's look great, but I just don't see a whole lot more going on with the D7's to warrant a change. That goes for a lot of gear nowadays I suppose.

I have a split set of Staff Model Blades and D7 Forged. They are super easy to hil and allow me to do what I want with my long irons which is essentially hit it high and straight or cut them in soft. Still playing with the lofts on them as I weakened them a bit from their stock numbers, but currently need to toy with the 4 iron as it's a little too close to my 5 iron currently.

They've gotten a lot of fantastic reviews around the web for their feel and performance. I last played the C300s and while they were only OK for me, I'm betting if I was a better ballstriker the D7 forged would be on my list. To be fair, I'm far more of a fit for the regular D series irons.

I don't know what you shoot but the D7 forged are pretty darn forgiving.

Where’d you split them at? I’ve got a set of the Staffs myself and contemplating a split with them.

Welcome OP.  I picked up a set of C300 Forged on closeout for like $400, and they were so good from the first time I played them.  So, me being me, I put them to the side and played other irons all season, with ups and downs.  A few weeks ago, with the season ending, decided to dust off the C300 Forged, and I've been playing them regularly the past few weeks.

They are very forgiving, and frankly play like full GI irons for me.  Moreso than other players' irons I have played.  Look great, and feel awesome as well.  I have seen both, and the C300 Forged are similar to the D7 Forged.  They'll never get respect, but these are simply great sets of irons.

See my signature, but I have 7-P in Blades and 4-6 in D7 Forged.

They are great clubs. Only thing close was the Forged Tec, but the turf interaction was just so much better with the D7 Forged during my fitting. I've got about 15 rounds with my fitted clubs now and I'm finally starting to turn the corner on the handicap. It had gotten up to an 8, but down to a 2.7.

I played Wilson Staff model blades 5-pw and picked up a d7 forged 4 iron to fill a gap.  Moved on to different set, p7mc's but liked the Wilson 4 iron I ended up keeping it, removed and replaced the shaft with a tensei white hybrid shaft, tipped 1/2 more then the recommendation for a 3 hybrid and have been using as a utility/hybrid club.

Thanks. Congratulations on getting the HC down. W/S irons are underrated by far.

I hit the C300 Forged prior to the D7 Forged and the new ones are definitely an upgrade.

OP. Welcome to the club. Def happy with my purchase even if I'm now having shaft issues

Hi everyone. My first post. Just wondering if anyone else loves the d7 forged as much as I do. They are long, forgiving, and can do whatever I ask of them. Thx guys excited to be a new member

Did you find the forged felt better than the regular D7? For some reason I was into the feel of the regular one more.

I only hit the regular D7’s once and it wasn’t for me. I have always played players irons and decided that I wanted more forgiveness with close to the same feel. With these I have found the perfect mix.

I was surprised by the d7 forged. I hit them the other day against my tour v6.
very good irons. a good in between Iron of game improvement but not too large to look at to me.

I am looking to help a friend get out of his old set and into something better for his game. He has clunky Calloway rogues with far too much offset for him. I am trying to sway him in the d7 forged or even land him an amazing deal on some c300 forged.

Before I bought my D7 forged I considered the new Cavity backs but they were shorter heel-to-toe and slightly less forgiving.

I know Wilson considers the "D"7 a distance iron....but perhaps that's only in loft.  They are a soft forged iron and look stellar in the bag.  In particular, I love the lack of offset.  Huge under the radar set here.
