What’s the Best Feeling in Golf?

Saw this in Golf Monthly and I thought I would throw it out there. 
 

For me, it’s seeing a par save roll in from more than 15 feet- serendipity baby! (Birdies are nice too). It’s fun to watch the ball track towards the hole and disappear.

I was playing a solo round one night, and I came across the cart girl, and her trainee, and the cart had broken down, and they couldn't leave the cart unattended.  We had to do some creative thinking, and....  oh, wait, sorry, thought this was something Forum.

My favorite is a long iron on a rope from the fairway and hearing the thud on the green.  Draining long putts is nice too.

Compressing the ball and sending it...up and down kick-in from the bunker...holing out from anywhere...birdie on the 18th when you only needed par.

For me, it is a persimmon driver struck dead on the screws. It is the same feeling as a barreled baseball off a wooden bat: the perfect transmission of vibration and sound to your senses.

ooooo this is a great question! For me, I love when you have a ball that's perfectly propped up in the rough and absolutely step on a long iron. Also love a short sided flop shot that ends up a kick in.

Getting up and down from a ridiculous situation to tie or beat your playing partner on that hole. The look of shock and then sadness on their face never gets old.

Unfortunately, with the way I golf, it's usually when I'm done.  Other than that, it's pretty much any shot I hit flush.

Hitting an iron, just knowing it is dead on and it actually being dead on!  It's so special because it's so rare. 😉

But I'd settle for the satisfaction for a perfectly executed shot

That is a good one. Those flyer lies you play for and then execute perfectly have a unique feel. And they leave the club like a magnum pistol round! Definitely a great feel.

For me, it is the excitement and anticipation when about to start a round. It never gets old. 

 

As for a particular shot, it is a perfectly struck high wood shot onto the green with little roll. Means I am usually putting for an eagle.😉

This is a good one.  A well struck driver on the perfect line is a close second.  Never gets old.

For me, it's the once or twice a season where the swing is like butter. Where I can't seem to miss off the tee, putts are dropping, and I shoot one of the best rounds of the year. It's 3-4 hours of "hey, I almost feel like I could join the tour the swing is working so well". 

 

And then the worst feeling is the next day when I go out and shoot 15 strokes worse.

For me it's hitting my drives 300 plus yards.  The adrenaline rush is unbelievable.  It also makes holes shorter so there are more scoring opportunities.

So far, hitting a long iron flush and drinking a beer seem to be winning. So, we have golfers that like to hit the ball a long way and drinkers that like to golf...

 Playing a best ball money match earlier this year...two friends said we didn't stand a chance against them...went out and shot a 68 and drilled them...I beat them on my ball alone.  We never let up all day long...best was after we beat them on the front we dropped two birdies to start the back....and that was all she wrote.
