I called it in the Rahm to Callaway thread because of that. Like dude has his own clubs made by TM, used the SIM driver as well so it was just a matter of time.

Wonder if fleetwood's deal includes any backend dollars on product sales increases in Europe. 

 

Anyone remember the deal baddeley got with McGregor way back in the day? IIRC, he had exclusive distribution rights for product into Australia. Not saying TM and fleetwood did anything close to that. Just reminiscing on how old I am that I remember that stuff.

Brooks wasnt playing the Mavrik for no reason. ...and it worked well for him before his mental "I need to go back to everything I did last year down to the stitch" collapse.

TF just put Srixon z785 4 and 5 iron and a set of Callaway wedges in his bag recently.  They will likely go away now with TM signing.too bad that he can no longer play “whatever works” as a free agent.

They may work with him. They have the important stuff. Driver, headcovers, bag and most of the irons. If there are a few oddities. Only us knuckle heads will know.

Great pick up for TM. At least he won't have to get used to clubs completely different than what he's playing since he has had a lot of recent Taylormade products in the bag. I'll echo that finding a putter he is comfortable with will be the most difficult.

It's in the Rahm thread, but Callaway probably looked to Rahm as a potential world no 1 top guy for the brand and offered him a deal in line with that.    TM has to spread it around a lot of guys and probably couldn't come close to being able to match it.

 

It wouldn't come as a shock to learn that Rahm leaving freed up enough to allow a deal with Fleetwood to get done.

Nike let everyone out of the equipment part of their contracts when they got out of equipment.  Because they worked on the head to toe model, they got a lot of players wearing their apparel once the equipment requirement was no longer there.

 

McIlroy went to TM pretty quickly, but still wears Nike.  I'm no longer the NIke fan I once was, but I don't think Fleetwood's equipment change has anything to do with a Nike deal.  The man loved his irons from them.

That is not totally correct. They let them play whatever they wanted as long as they did not sign with another OEM. Rory had the ability to sign another huge deal so he did. Some of these guys, are playing out their gear contract till it ends with the benefit of playing what they want. Then then will sign a deal. 

 

So Nike was honoring the contract as long as they didnt sign. Some opted to sign as they could pull in enough to make it worth it.

club contracts suck, nothing worse than 1 or 2 brand bags because of the $, I am sure that the ROI is good, however i just don't see it unless you're a Tiger or Phil.  I know I am wrong, just not sure how:)

Wonder what ball he will play? He currently is a paid Titleist ball player (V1X).

They got the TP5 and TP5x which is no slouch of a ball. I'm sure he'll do lots of testing to see what suits him better.

Fleetwood by all accounts is a super nice guy however I don’t see him as a high profile player. His tournament results don’t put him in the same bracket as Rahm.
