Keep at it for a few years and may get to JHR levels- how’s that for a WRX deep cut?

Or Golfjunki71. He changed his whole bag twice a week. Lol.

Oh yeah.....Nice callout he was great for the WITBs

I mean Pure745 was probably the GOAT but he was too obvious. And i compared him to Oprah's book club once and we've had friction ever since (Pure if you're out there, you'll always be Oprah's book club to me!!!!!)

It was good. I was on the site right at 12pm when it started so I could see the full selection.

Pretty much every 2022 model of retail Drivers, Woods/Hybrids, Irons, wedges and putters for 20-40% off.

Thought about picking up a Driver to put head-to-head vs my Rogue ST Max, but it’s already beaten out 3-4 Drivers for me this season, so saved my money. Just ordered a putter I’ve been curious to test out, and a few grips…kept it simple.

Here’s my new experiment for the putter spot in my bag. Have been curious to try this one for a while.

I’ve been rolling the Odyssey White Hot OG 7 pretty well this season, so won’t be easy to beat out by any means. But this one is definitely worth a shot!

Love the Tri-hot 5k’s!  Currently playing the Mezz Max bit if (when) I go back to a blade it would be one of these. The weighting feels so stable and the white hot insert is a classic.

Haha!! Hey man, you know I'm definitely open-minded with my purchasing decisions! 🤣

Definitely love your Deschamps putter for sure...it's a beauty! I'm really liking Odyssey putters right now though, and the White Hot insert is becoming something I really like...just love the softness and feel.

Yeah man...I've really been liking my White Hot OG 7 this season, but I've always preferred the look of a blade putter. I'm hoping this Double Wide Tri Hot will be a good middle ground with the look of a blade, but the balance and weighting of a mallet.

And I agree on the White Hot insert...now that I'm used to the softness and feel of it, I really enjoy it which is why it's becoming a go-to for me.

The times I've tested Stroke Lab shafts in golf shops though, I haven't been sold, so that will be the biggest test for if the Tri Hot 5K will be sticking in my bag and able to beat out my White Hot OG 7.

That putter is awesome! I like the width on the blade. Are you going to keep the stock grip or swap it out?

Thanks man, I'm loving it so far for sure! Yeah, this one is the Double Wide version, so has a little more heft to it and the balance in it makes it feel like a really nice blend of a Blade and a Mallet putter.

I asked my Golf shop to try and save the stock grip because I really liked the feel of it, but if they can't save it, I picked out a Winn Excel Medalist Vision Pistol grip to try out on it in Black & Red that felt and looked pretty good.

Two updates from yesterday. Played my last round of the season here unfortunately. Most courses and Driving ranges are closed now, and temps are dropping fast. Going to be a long Winter, but it’s part of life unfortunately. 😐🥶

Got my new Tri-Hot 5K back from the shop extended to 36” and they were able to save the stock grip, so that was definitely a win!!

I’ll be doing an end of season WITB soon as well, so stay tuned!

Just picked up my first ever Vessel bag (co-branded w/ TM), and got my Driving Iron extended, so I’m ready to do my 2022 End of season WITB!

Why do a WITB at the end of the season? Well of course for all my fellow WRX junkies! But for me it’s also as a Time Capsule to lock in the finished product of 2-3yrs of extreme turnover and trial & error. I never intended to turnover all the clubs that I have, and my end goal was always to have a setup that was as close to the perfect setup for me as possible.

After Driver, Iron/Wedge, and Putter fittings last season, and a lot of my own testing/flipping, I finally have a setup that I feel fits me and my game really well, and I’m hoping to keep as much of this current bag intact over the Winter as possible going into next season.

Without further ado, here is my End of Season 2022 WITB:

Driver: Callaway Rogue ST Max (9* @ 11*)

Shaft: Tensei AV White 65 S (+0.5”)

Nice getting a vessel bag on sale, I bought mine from Vessel and it’s expensive getting it up to us in Canada.

Nice getting a vessel bag on sale, I bought mine from Vessel and it’s expensive getting it up to us in Canada.

Yeah man…it felt like when you score a date with the hottest girl in school (or at least hottest in your class), and you’re just waiting to wake up because it has to be too good to be true! 😉🤣

I got 45% off at my local Golf Town…way too good to pass up!

Yeah, the ZX is the best Utility or long iron I’ve tried for sure…dynamite early results!

Haha…no, Srixon irons aren’t in my cart yet. The early results with the AP2’s have been good so far. Still in the process of figuring out yardages and shot types with each club, and coming from ‘21 P790’s they are obviously a huge change.

I loved the feel of the ZX7’s when I hit them well, but I’m not 100% sure the V-Soles were really the best fit for my swing.

Hey @BallerNate quick question on the ZX7s - are you steep / shallow? Play on firm or soft courses? Any thoughts on your struggle with the V Sole? Want to move away from my Mizuno MP5s (just dont get to practice enough) to some ZX7 MKIIs as they have launched here... hit them well in testing / clubfitting but you got me curious.

Great question. The absolute last thing I would want to do would be to influence you or anyone else to not buy Srixon stuff. They’re an awesome company to work with, and they make excellent products.

I’m a sweeper…extremely shallow and barely bruise the turf when I swing. I live in Canada, and our course conditions range widely depending on the season, and how much rain or how hot it is during that particular year.

I think what I would compare the V-soles to would be High Bounce wedges. But for my particular swing and the various conditions I play, I’ve discovered over the last couple of years that I do better with Mid/Standard bounce that are more versatile.

I should also note though, that through trial and error I’ve found out that my fitter last year recommended for me to play Irons and Wedges that were too long and too upright (+1.5”, 2* Up)…but I strike the ball much better at +1” and 1* upright. So because of that, I had the Z 785’s, ZX7’s, and P790’s all very poorly adjusted for my game.

So with that realization, it’s tough to say whether it was those Irons that weren’t a good fit for me, or just bad advice from my fitter that led to poor results.

Bahaha!! Well, I can’t say you haven’t been right before! 🤣🤣

If they still have the Vessel’s in stock at your local Golf Town you should grab one. To quote Bob Parsons, they’re “a smokin’ hot, sexy deal!!” 😉😎

Thanks! I love Srixon and they support our local market in SA which means I am a big supported already... play the Z Star Ball, and soft goods and wanting to get into the irons. The endo forged feel and v sole are a big plus as well as very fair pricing. I on the other hand and not shallow haha - so should be good for me!

Interesting note on the length and lie - will keep an eye on that going forward as I am also 6ft3 and play +0.75" and 2 up - thanks for the insight.

Yeah, Srixon makes excellent products and has awesome customer service also.

I’m definitely open to adding more of their products to my bag in the future…time will tell. Love the ZX driving iron though and that won’t be leaving my bag anytime soon!

And definitely, the specs for clubs are so key and such an individual thing. I don’t envy fitters when they have to deal with tall guys like us…so difficult to find the right fit!
