Anybody watching this? Reed putting on a short game clinic today.

Canter just took the lead with many in contention. Fitzpatrick with a putt for eagle to overtake Canter.

 

Love watching the European Tour early in the am.

It seems lately that Reed's short game is second to none. Great leaderboard too.

Amazing round. Reed got a few breaks on wayward shots, but for him to still be in a tie for the lead is remarkable.

If Stenson had made a move on Friday, I'd have fumbled for the remote and turned it on when I woke up at 4:00 a.m., instead I somehow managed to get a  couple more hours of sleep, lol.  Sure enough, he's fumbled himself into a tie with Poulter.

 

I'm thinking Westy for tomorrow!  I'm not necessarily anybody but Reed, if he wins he obviously deserves it, but Willet would be a good story as some others.  Sullivan lurking, he's proved to be a bit of a "rotter", but apparently playing a little better of late.

 

Won't set the alarm, though I'll probably dvr.

The europeantour.com web site had some strangeness going on with their leader board this morning. I checked the scores over morning coffee and they had Canter at -16 with Fitz 1 shot back. 

 

So just a few minutes ago I see a tweet about Hovland being 1 shot back and I think, "I don't remember seeing him up there". So I go and check the web site again and the scores aren't even close to what they had before. 

 

Really odd.

The course seems to be maturing a bit but like East Lake I am sure they could find better venues. The last hole is awesome mind you.

Valderrrama was the perfect spot. But the money is down there and I find that course the best of the desert championship courses. All the holes down the stretch are decent enough. Still, like all courses it needs wind and hard greens to make things really interesting.

He hasn't been closing out his opportunities to win in the last 2 years.

Another amazing display of scrambling from Reed. Westwood still hits it so good, is it possible for him to win a major next year if he has a hot putting week and the stars align?

So I slept in today. Would have been nice to see Westwood get it, he's been playing really well.

Yes!  But that's been the case for many majors - same answer for Tiger.

I like Westwood.  But I have to admit I enjoyed the idea of captain America going over and taking the euro tour title.  Too bad he ran out of steam , he led it a long time.

I hate the idea of Captain America coming over and doing that. Delighted he ran out of steam. Slightly surprising though, being in the desert, I always thought he excelled in the sand.
