Mevo indoors question

I found out my wife bought me a Mevo (not the + model) for Christmas and I'm dying to use it before then (she doesn't know I know...)  So, in the meantime I've been setting up my hitting net in the garage.  Just looking to get some advice on just how much space is needed to capture some ball data.  The Mevo should be 6 to 8 feet behind the ball, and the net needs to be the same distance away, is that right?

 

Any other advice for setups in the garage would be appreciated.

Typically, yes...that's about where we are with doppler monitors at the moment in terms of distance requirements.  The lower spin the shot is, the more trouble you might see in terms of accurate spin readings as the more revs the monitor has a chance to see the better the accuracy.

4-7 feet behind the ball, at least 8 feet of ball flight.

I just tried my Mevo indoors at my buddy's Trackman bay and set it up 6 feet behind for wedges and 7 feet behind for woods. It's pretty amazing how accurate this thing is. It was reading carry vs Trackman a hair more for wedges, within half a yard for my 6 iron and a few yards less for driver (but more believable, lol). The launch and spin (I used the dot) where right in the ballpark. His bay has about at least 15 feet to hit into so no real issues other than the Mevo dropping some readings. I am wondering if the other unit was interfering as I have had no dropped readings outside yet. 

 

I have been super impressed with the Mevo especially for wedge work on the range. The real strength is outside where you get to see ball flight, but for a winter aid it gives you some really good data.
