Watching the PGA Championship on Saturday afternoon, Max cuddled up next to me and then started to fall asleep, so I figured I'd lay down with him on the couch, moved him into position and he didn't move from this position for about an hour. Gives a perspective on his 10lb frame...

Make sure to wear long sleeves around those razor blade teeth, you will have scars!

 

My little guy sleeps in the most ridiculous positions, usually posting up on the couch with his head on the arm rests. He's still too small for it to look comfortable but he's out cold as soon as he has a head perch.

Max just hit 13 wks (had him for 2 of those weeks now) . He''s got the concept of sit, and have been working on defraying the nip/jump with more treat rewards with some good success. We have him on a long lead, but don't even have to hold it in the yard. He either follows/side, or sits and waits. 

 

But yeah.... they nap like rock stars.

And every now and then, they find a position that just makes you want to sit and watch them.

Lost my boy "Bruno" almost 2 years ago now and I still cry. Love to come to this site to see all of your "kids". Just can't bring it to get another one, love having one in the family so much, but at my age, just can't go through all of it. Keep the pictures going, makes me smile.....and makes me cry.

We have had a FB page for our pups for years. https://www.facebook.com/samroninand Sam passed 4-5months ago. Ronin is the tan (Rescue mix).  We have had Max (The white one) for about a month.... if you want to watch the shenanigans from afar... 🙂

Sorry for your loss. They are family and anyone who says otherwise is wrong. 😉 On the plus side, losing them quickly is better than long and drawn out (have been through both). I posted about losing our boy Sam earlier in this thread, the suddenness/shock is what hurts more, but the quickness is a saving grace.

I thin that losing my mother might have been easier. We THINK it was neurological (went blind, lost balance, etc). I was the one that was primarily taking care of him (Mid-August, I teach and coach so no school and home from practice by 10), I just cant get the images of him falling, running into things, etc. I know its different for everyone, but when does that finally end? I try my hardest to think of the good times, but man...

Grief is love persevering, "but when does it finally end". It doesnt. The sting goes away eventually but the hole in your heart, you just learn to live with it.

I mean remembering those last 2 weeks of he#@. Seemed like no one in our house wanted to deal with the thought of losing him so I got to see him go downhill. Thats what I am having the hardest time getting out of my mind.

Reggie is on the rebound this week- last week he had surgery to remove a cyst from his ear and a rather odd mass near the corner of his eye. We thought it best to get it removed so it wouldn't grow and be a hindrance for him in the future. 

 

As it turns out, it's a damn good thing we did. The biopsy came back and the eye mass was a mast cell tumor. It's Stage 1 and they think they got the whole thing (healthy cells all around the border), but it's terrifying to hear the vet say she's never seen this in a 6-month pup in her 32 years of practice. The scarier part is that we've been monitoring this tumor for 2-3 months. 

 

Next phase is to get some additional consultation from specialists.
