Two golfers, two swings, which is better (just a bit of fun..)

Player A

Player B

Just to update the op, one of these golfers is 7 shots better than the other. Last two rounds, the worse golfer lost 10 balls with at least 5-6 ob, the better golfer lost one, no ob. (Just to take short game out of it)

Both have over-the-top and flipping issues. Looks like B's DTL shot was a skull that went all of about 20 yards. A's miss wasn't catastrophic so I guess that wins?

Agree with the ‘flip’ show me the ott position for either player?

I'd be interested to see how functional they are because they're older guys who look like they've grooved those moves for a long time. Handicaps would be interesting to know.

'A' flips so bad, on the side view swing, I feel like he'd be impossible to club.

I could see him hitting the same iron +15 or -15 yards on what he THOUGHT was the exact same swing, just based on timing the flip.

I'd be surprised if 'A' was the better player, although nothing of short game is mentioned.

Who knows? If you saw Furyk's swing at the local muni and didn't know who he was, you'd never think he could shoot a 58 on tour and win a US Open with it.

Put it like this.. (ignoring short game).. these two played together last two days, one lost upwards of 10 balls with several ob, one lost one ball..

ive watched Furyk live, you would absolutely know he was a top pro from one swing, without seeing the ball flight. Same with Azinger, same with Wiratchant etc. Television is extremely deceptive

Ok, I'm willing to take a stab.

I'd agree with the majority that Player A is the better golfer.

But, I's say the real difference between the two is set-up, posture, and balance.

Player A's stance seems much more balanced and stable - therefore enabling him to be much more consistent delivering the clubhead at impact despite a less than perfect swing.

Player B, however, seems much more out on the toes and much more out of balance. Thus, I would argue that Player B has more inconsistency in their ballstriking, leading to higher score.

Just one moron's opinion.

Ok I’ll bite and will probably get this totally wrong (see username plus I feel this may be a trick question) but here are my guesses:

Player A. Path a little in to out, slightly shallow, quite a lot of club face rotation, could perhaps keep left tilt slightly longer in transition. Probably quite a big difference between good and bad days and hits a few drop kicks with longer clubs off the ground but good days are pretty good. Bad days could suffer from hooks and blocks.

Player B. See some good stuff here too and several similarities to A but am a bit concerned about the lower body. Hips move a fair way towards the ball in the downswing and the right hip moves out a bunch and gets in the way.

Older guys?

I have sweaters older than them!

I'll say A.

Id been staying away from even watching this video  as I didn’t want to mix it with other swing thoughts, but I’ve now given in to temptation lol

Player A drops his right shoulder, slides, has an open face at p6, and flips.    Probably keeps to much pressure back.   Ends up standing up a bit.  Stalls and flips.   Can see him spraying the ball depending.    Clubhead really overtakes the hands fast - can see them past the hands before club disappears behind his body.

Player B has the better swing - does appear to be late with the pressure, gets a bit steep so he stands up, has face in better position at p6 and hands are at right thigh with move level shoulders, club head stays in front of hands thru finish,  classic folding chair finish shows he doesn't extend well - no early lateral shift to start downswing (A also doesn't shift early)  - better hip depth and angles would help a lot  - don't see him extending hips well in backswing, regains flex poorly, and as a result doesn't extend through impact.  I'd expect B to be the more consistent ball striker.
