Tiger or Brady or Jeter or Gretzky or Ronaldo

I’d rather have a career like Michael Schumacher or Lewis Hamilton.  I’d have all the money I could ever want, but would only be crazy famous in about half the world.  I could drive all over Europe and be rich and famous, then vacation in the States and walk around like a normal person with absolutely no one knowing who I was.

Jeter's married with two kids.

He's obsessed with Tiger.  As for babes, Tiger's extracurriculars were all dogs.  Surprisingly so.  Jeter did quite well.  Jessica Alba comes to mind.

jeter got married at 42 after a legendary career and baseball...Messi is with the same woman he has known since he was 5

Tiger- arguably the GOAT. Certainly of his era.

Jeter-Fine player on a really good team, not even the best shortstop of his era.

Brady-see Tiger

Gretzky-see Tiger

Ronaldo-not the best of his era, really can't stand the guy.  Don't like his sport, but I know enough to know he is last on my list.  No matter how much money he makes.

I'll take golf  all else being equal, longest career, good money, no CTE, you can take weeks off if you want, you are a independent contractor, You practice when you want, play when you want, travel where you want, multiple tours to choose from, you spend time outdoors, plus I just love the game, everything else I quit really being into years ago.  I'm not really into tennis either, but it would be my 2nd choice, same sort of lifestyle.  Plus you don't have to deal with teammates and their issues, you take care of yourself, if your caddie or coach pisses you off you just fire them and move on.

I think the same might be true for most American football players, I am sure Brady has some fans in Europe, but how many people would recognize him without his wife?

Man this is a tough one. Being a Red Sox fan, but with total respect for Jeter, I might have to go with Jeter. From a dating angle. Like holy cow. Not going that way though. Why you ask? Cause I'm an old guy and just thinking about that wears me out. Might have to go with Ronaldo. Soccer is a world sport. Yeah there is a lot of traveling as others have said, but out of the five Football is the only sport that doesn't have an excess of traveling. And the World Cup, everybody gets to try to qualify. Still, Jeter, man.

How the he// did this become about groupies and girlfriends? Based on the original premise...Gretzky=goat....Tiger=goat.....Brady=goat(in a combination of play and championships) ...don’t know about Ronaldo style football as I would still say Pele....but how does Jeter get into the equation? Not even close to goat even with we limit it to position.

All that said I would take golf. But no way in the world I would want their life. Tiger was near Beatles and Ali status. No where in the world he could go without being mobbed.  Not the life for me.

I'm a fan of each player.    All of the others have team mates to help their cause while Tiger plays alone.   Jeter and Ronaldo aren't the best in their sport an any given time.   There are/were better players at their position in their sport.    While Tom Brady is very good and will definitely be in HOF, he's always had a good team around him.   Send him to Detroit and he's a good player that doesn't win anything.    Gretzky is definitely very good but again, surrounded by good team mates.   Mario Lemieux could also be a challenge to the GOAT in hockey.

Tiger was rated #1 for 683 weeks.  I realize golf isn't a contact sport but that length is legendary.   Tiger gets my vote and it isn't even close.

In random order...

David Beckham - Football is the most popular sport on the planet and he is the best ever in that sport.
Michael Jordan - Without a shadow of a doubt the best basketball player that has ever walked the planet.
Kobe Bryant - In that same list as MJ, probably number 5 in terms of best all time.
Tiger Woods - No one can touch this guy on a golf course on his best day.
Cristiano Ronaldo - Another footballer who has been hated on and loved by many. Either way, people are talkin bout this guy and his move to Read Madrid helps.

Like Tiger, Gretzky was a game changer.  Jeter and Brady filled their niches and grew to greatness within the confines of the game as it existed/exists while they played, and they had the good looks and charm to establish themselves as celebrities.  Contrast that with Gretzky who was an absolute machine, but the game of hockey has moved so far past where Gretzky was.
