Push trolleys

Hi all

looking at getting a push trolley and I’ve narrowed it down to 3:

clicgear 4.0

clicgear rv2l

motocaddy cube

The default answer seems to be the 4.0, but there isn’t much written about the other two. In particular the rv2l seems good and a fair bit cheaper, so wondering if that might be the one to go for.

I play mainly links golf, so no really hilly terrain to worry about, just looking for something fast rolling.

any opinions appreciate.

thanks.

I have had a Clic Gear 1.0 or 2.0 for 8 years (predecessor to the current 4.0).  Other than the rubber wheel treads showing expected usage wear, it is as good now as the day I bought it.  Pushes easily, very stable, folds up to very tidy package.  Worth every penny.

I also have the added seat feature but don’t use it much.  It is certainly stable and works well.  I just found I didn’t use it much.

I've had the clicgear 3.5 for 4 years and probably 300+ rounds.  Still works great.  If I was to get a new one it would be the 4.0.

Second that.... have had mine close to 6 years, hundreds of rounds.  No issues, performs the same as the day I bought it.

I know it’s not on your list but the Caddytek is awesome.  I have two.  I bought a clic gear and returned it and bought the Caddytek instead.  Don’t get me wrong, the clicgear is great, but at the time, it was twice the price of the Caddytek and the Caddytek came with many of the things that are optional on the clicgear.  I’ve had my first Caddytek since 2016, put over 400 rounds on it and it’s going just as as strong as the day I bought it.  It’s very easy to open and close as compared to the clicgear although I would assume the clic gear is easy too once you get the hang of it.

Feels like I’ve had every golf trolley available - got the Walker Trolley last spring and it’s by far my favourite now - total retro appearance with a cool vibe to it - but with some pretty implicit engineering in there as well - not cheap but it’s the trolley more people have asked me about and have positively commented upon compared to the clicgear, sunmountain, bag boy, caddytek, ..... trolleys I’ve had before

Clicgear, hands down. It's worth any additional up-front expense; on a "per round" basis, it's got to be the cheapest thing on the market.

I used a 2.0 for 11 years and used it for probably 1500 rounds and countless miles.  The wheel bearings finally wore out, and I bought a 4.0 instead of replacing the wheels, which was a very affordable option, btw, simply because I wanted the newer brake, the larger storage compartment on the handle, and the storage net.

The accessories that Clicgear offers are superb, it doesn't turn over, and it folds up to a little cube that stays in my car all the time and doesn't take up much room on trips.  Really, the thing is an engineering marvel.

Clicgear is fantastic! Own the 3.5+ (I think) and love it. Only negative is that its cubic when folded which makes storing it and my bag in the locker a bit tedious. But apart from that: top notch

I would second this 100%. I have the 4 wheeled CaddyTek and love it. I don't know if TGW gets theirs from the same manufacturer and rebrands them, but this is exactly what I have and bought from TGW 3 years ago.

Clicgear 3.5+ for 7 years and 400 - 500 rounds.  Pretty much like new.  Highly recommend.

I'm thinking about buying this exact cart (TGW brand). Are you saying that your CaddyTek is pretty much exactly the same as what TGW is offering, just with their own logo on it instead?

I picked up a used Clic Gear 1.0 and it is a great trolley. I also have the seat for those slow rounds.

I picked up a used Clicgear 2.0 from ‘Offer Up’ a few months back and it’s been perfect for $85. Check the used market and save yourself a few bucks IMO.

I've been watching the used market for a couple weeks now and supply is sparse - nothing within about 100 miles on any site that I've checked.  Going to be pure luck if I find one.  Even if I do, it may be hard to pull the trigger if I can get a new 4.0 for a hundred bucks more.

As far as I can tell they are the same. TGW used to carry Caddytek, now they don't. Haven't seen a TGW cart in person, but based on pictures all the parts look identical. Same wheels, tubing, straps, umbrella holder, handle, e.t.c.

I have an earlier version of this one, mine still has a strap on the upper which I prefer over just the cradle. https://www.caddytek.com/product/caddytek-caddycruiser-one-version-8/

So I decided to go out and post the question on TGW'S site, they confirmed they're still made by CaddyTek.

This is the one I just bought. Unfortunately, when I went to TGW to buy the one with the strap, they had discontinued it. I'm hoping the cradle that allegedly locks is just as good because it seems to be exactly the same minus the cradle change.

Happy to report that my push cart came with a strap that can be added to the cradle. It was a nice little surprise.
