New TP5 and TP5X for 2021

I posted this in the "TM not SIM" thread in the tour forum, but thought I'd post here too. Morikawa has the new TP5 in play. Nice shot of the side stamp from Getty.

I have commented on here before a few times but admit it was a few months back and I did have issues logging in this time so may have set up as new?? 🤦‍♂️ In fact I didn’t realise that comment actually posted till now as it logged me out when I tied to post so I gave up. (I may have even posted this a few times now as I hit ‘submit reply’ and it bounce straight back to submit reply?!

Anyway ‘reliable source’ gave me correct info re TM 700 series ie P7MC P770 specs photos etc just as it started leaking on here (which I ended up buying but after few months I found they are a bit hot for me and looking to swap out at least the shorter 770 irons with 7MC)

 

Reliable source also showed me a Sim2 driver head that you could take the carbon top off to see the internal frame more than a month ago (which happens to look exactly like the ones they released this week.)

This all equals very reliable in my books but I totally understand the skepticism...

Look forward to see how the new ball is promoted and give it a try although it’d need to be good for me to move from my beloved ProV1’s.

Reliable to me means someone that is proven they have been right in the past. (More than once)

My son just got restocked on tp5x.  I wonder if its the new model.  Any idea how to tell?   Seems like the old model has grey <   > next to the tp5x sign whereas these are black.

Compare the box and yes, new < > should be black.

I am curious on a new PIX release. There are no TP5x Pix anymore on their site but tons of TP5 I assume given all the sale prices a new pix ball will come along with the new 2021 TP5 and TP5x release.

 

I hope they get rid of the orange color, only thing I disliked on the pix 2.0 was the orange side of the triangle.

Def a ball refresh I saw a Ad for them somewhere.  Still TP5 & TP5x

 

I also know with Gen 1 I preferred the TP5x

With Gen2 the better ball without a doubt was the TP5 the "x" sucked IMO.

 

I'm gonna stick with the 2020 Tour B XS because from 160 in I know exactly what it is going to do just about every swing, especially w the putter & wedges.

A reliable source tells me that this ball will fly 300+ off the tee even when hit by an incontinent geriatric but still has more greenside spin than a balata dipped in vaseline.

Yellow Urethane under the paint on the coloured version: hopefully equals some better durability for 2021.......😉

I'm very interested. I've played both generations of the TP5X and am waiting on the new one. A little more greenside spin and it will be about perfect!
