Best online lessons

Recommended Posts

I need to strike the ball better so I can get into single digits and I simply want to hit more greens instead of scrambling so often.

i want to send my swing into a pro for drills and advice. Then work on the drills and send in another video. Currently use 18 Birdies and it says “ too much head movement” and “ not enough hip turn”

Any feedback on Adam Young golf?

I agree with this. I once had an online lesson where someone said i had to increase my bend at the hips at address. Easy enough to say but how do I know when I am at the right amount of bend according

It is hard for sure. You can't beat feedback ball by ball and being put into the correct positions.

I’ve tried many different online lessons. I would agree that Carraher offers the most detailed lessons at the best price. However, for me I’ve found that online lessons are challenging. Trying to make changes through online communication for me is very difficult. I need hands on in person continuous instruction in order to make any lasting swing changes. Best of luck.

I agree with this. I once had an online lesson where someone said i had to increase my bend at the hips at address. Easy enough to say but how do I know when I am at the right amount of bend according to the instructor? I would then send a picture of me at address and either get a one or two word response saying "need more" or the instructor wouldn't respond because they'd want you to buy another lesson. Guessing game at that point imo

I've had online lessons from the following:

Dan Carraher (Skillest)

Josh Park

Perrie Garcia

Alex Moore (Skillest)

Monte

I don't think that you can go wrong with any of them. They all pretty much identified the same issues; each just came at it from their own angle. I have paid some "name" instructors
a lot more, and received a whole lot less, than I received from each of the five teachers above.

I enjoyed being a part of Adam Young’s NLG program. It’s a ton of information, and provides concepts worth exploring. It is not a step-by-step guide though. I’ve paired a lot of Adams skill building concepts with traditional online lessons and it’s worked well.

What is Adam's NLG program. Is it anything like the Strike Plan?

Good list of pros there. Can I ask why you kept trying different instructors? I’ve done this also and for me I kept hoping another teacher would help but I never really improved. Would this be the same for you since they kept identifying the same issue?  Thanks.

I can get a lesson via FaceTime and send a video in in between lessons for feedback. Felt it was a good deal.

I have positive thoughts.

I'm planning on starting with Dan Carraher.   Solid reviews.

Any feedback on what to expect before I get started?

The famous "Stick drill"
Jokes aside, I recently took a lesson and got a 10 minute review of what's going on in my swing and why. Finally, I got a couple of drills to work on, including "stick drill"

I did a couple of lessons with him - very "to the point" of what was wrong.  WOrked on it a while and did another one - was not afraid to tell me I was not quiet there on 1 of 2 recommendations.  To me that is very important, as I imagine some instructors fear they will lose business w/o telling you something new.

There are also some instrictors that do Live Online sessions where they can actually see you hitting or at least swinging - those are a little more but you leave them knowing that X was the position they were talking about and trying to get you in.
