He is a good player, but he’s not a robot. I doubt the front to back dispersion would be that great.

Clearly not that good of a player. Unless it was an extremely windy day there would not be 15-20 yards difference with “identical” swings.

Appears to me he did the test in the order shown and was getting tired as he went along.

I recently received a sample pack of these, and have now had a few rounds with them.

the XV is my preference (I’m a V1x user) and I have to say that I’ve been really impressed with the XV.

I play on a coastal course, so there’s always plenty of wind, and the XV is really good in the wind. Spin around the green is very good (Id say a bit higher than the V1x), and I really like the firm feel with the putter.

with regards durability, I’ve played the same ball for 18 holes on most rounds, and saturday’s round included a couple of skinny bunker shots, and at the end of the round the ball was in really good shape - certainly no worse than the V1x usually is.

To me, the ball seems better than previous iterations, and I’ll certainly be keeping it in play for the foreseeable.

I'm gonna go to the store tomorrow and see if any Z-Stars / XVs are still on the shelf. I didn't like the previous models with the cracking / seem line but, Hideki winning the green jacket will definitely help their sales.

They would do well to run a special sale to celebrate his win.

In South Africa we have had the "Performance Packs" which is a box with 6 balls in for a few months at a slightly reduced price already. R180 ($12) a sleeve normally vs $10 in the performance pack. Current special has dropped that even lower to almost $7.50/$8 a sleeve. Using R15/$ to exchange to make it relative. Not sure how the US market reacts vs international but we get some good deals on the Srixon stuff thankfully. Cant think they wont do something that side soon...

After initially having some concerns I must say I have been on the 2021 XV now for a number of rounds (most times 18-27 holes with a ball) and not really worrying about the seam issue. In general the ball holds up well and its performance for me is great. Does everything except fetch the newspaper.

Noticed your playing the ZX5 Driver, is that the new version? How is that playing out for you?

I have that listed but not put in play yet. I’m using the Callaway Epic Speed right now. I’ll get into the Srixon ZX5 in May. Yes it is the 2021 model.

You’ll be happy with it. It’s an incredibly solid driver. I’ve loved mine and my ball flight is very consistent

In my experience, the XV has always been the best wind ball going.  A bit more clicky than most, but phenomenal wind ball.

I am going with the Callaway this year because of an issue with the local Srixon rep and because the LS is really long for me.

Used the new Z-star yesterday. Felt very soft for a premium ball. Distance wasn't great either. Glad I only bought three. Plus point was excellent durability.

Give the XV a try... might give you the best of both. Will be firmer, go further and take some spin off. Really is a good ball but these days balls are so nuanced that one ball will work completely differently with a different player.

Interesting on the LS, I dabbled in some Chrome Soft during social rounds when it first came out but struggled with the compression being so low... might be time to give Callaway another bash... how is the short game performance on the LS?

It works for me. Is a firm ball. So it's not the spinniest. But I get great check from bunkers and at least XV level check on chips and pitches
