Does your rangefinder work through the golf cart windscreen?

I had a Bushnell Tour X for several years that worked awesome.  I lost the slope attachment which were no long available for purchase, so I sold it and purchased a new Busnell Tour V5 shift.

 

It seems that with my new V5 shift, I can't shoot a target when the plastic golf cart windscreen is up and I'm pretty certain with my old rangefinder that wasn't a problem.  I now have to step outside the cart.  I also tried shooting it through a glass window which didn't work.  I'm pretty sure I used to be able to use a rangefinder with the golf cart windscreen up...or maybe I'm wrong?  What is your experience with this?

I have a V4 and although it has worked when going through a glass window, it's never really worked with one of the plastic golf cart windshields.

 

I imagine part of it has to do the the golf cart windshield typically being a little angled therefor throwing off the laser when it refracts through it. That being said I've never found it to be an inconvenience to step out of the cart to do it. I'm getting out to grab my club and hit the shot anyway.

I wouldn’t shoot the laser through anything for the same reason mentioned above. You’re getting out as is, and I’d be worried about the beam being skewed.

Anything in between you and your target will skew the reading of the rangefinder.

I am sorry to hear you will have to get out of the golf cart. That is really going to slow down your rounds.

Oh, and it also safer to get out of the cart. I have a military-grade rangefinder, and it burns a hole in the windscreen if I shoot through it. 🕵️‍♂️

It is rare that I do use a cart, but when I do I am windshield down all the way.

I have never attempted to shoot through a cart shield, inherently knowing it would throw the results off. Besides, I can't imagine it would be easy to lock onto the pin through the plastic window.

Ok, got it!  Maybe it didn't actually work too well in the past through the plastic windscreen and I forgot.  I've had the screen up lately since it's been chillier.  

Hahaha - apparently I'm in too much of a hurry.  I typically play as a single first out and finish in an hour and 45 mins so every second makes a difference!   If I'm having a good round it's a little quicker.  The shorter the round typically means I'll have a lower score!
