It will never happen, but I'd like to see a major in Asia.  Alternate between Japan and Korea most years, maybe go to Australia or New Zealand every few.  Honestly there should be one in each of Japan and Korea but how many majors can you have?  Even six seems like too many.

I've said it before....ANA should tell the LPGA that they are pulling out unless Japan hosts a major.

If Mission Hills is such a great event...with all it's history..blah blah blah...then why is it so poorly attended on a yearly basis?

Answer: no one cares.

None of the men's majors have issues selling out.

Smiley Mike would never allow the 1st major to leave Mission Hills....but hopefully the new commish sees the light and allows Japan or S. Korea to bid on a major.....Japan and S. Korea have clearly demonstrated their love and support for women's golf.....women's pro golf is more popular than men's pro golf in Japan and S. Korea.

I'd also like to see the new commish take the major status away from the Evian....and get back to 4 majors.

Anyone know anything about Rick?

He's a single parent....I'm guessing he is not wealthy.

Pano must have quiet a few financial backers.

She's been travelling quite a bit for many years playing competitive golf....and I gotta believe Rick doesn't have a 'normal' job.

Maybe one of the reasons to turn pro for potential payback to her backers.

Alexa has been slipping in WAGR rankings...now #92.

I've always felt that one needs to show the talent to be consistently in the Top 5 WAGR rankings as an indicator that one can make a living on the LPGA.

There's a difference of making it to the LPGA vs. keeping your card to make a living.

Assuming she advances...it will be interesting if Pano gets an age exception to play Q-Series.

Just thinking - Pano seems like she'd be a player to test the waters of the new NCAA NIL rules.

Only if Pano hires BJ Wie as her agent...that guy is a GOAT at shilling endorsements🤣...the man is a GENIUS.

BJ should be the new LPGA commish...not the new WANNABE.

Watching and loving the US Women’s Senior open and so thrilled to see so many of the ladies I followed back in the day.

I tweeted Golf Channel reminding them to show as much of the field as possible, not only the leaders.

I particularly wanted to see Inkster and Tschetter and asked them for this

Sure enough not 20 minutes later, they’re on the tube.

Outstanding!!

Yes, exactly what I thought when I read article. The NIL rules now not only gives players flexibility of amateur vs Pro on Symetra tour only, but substantial income. Reality is, she could win a few times on Symetra, and still not make ends meet. But, a player as popular as Alexa can now make 20x that in endorsements. If I'm not mistaken, I believe she was on original panel a couple years ago w/USGA, as junior rep, so am sure is prepared.

Competitively, it reminds me of what Lucy Li did, only Alexa doesn't need to turn pro unless she wants to. Could play college, but still compete in Symetra at the same time if she makes it, even at 16. That's a great option for players to have, especially in summer. Betting you see college players doing same.

Yes, she's young turning 17 soon

BUT

She's heading in the wrong direction for any somewhat attractive endorsement.....companies want winners.

Pano is now 91st in WAGR...a far cry from top 10.

After a 1st rd lead with a 66...Alexa finished 13th and 12 strokes behind the winner at this past week's PGA Jr. Girls Championship.

I don't think Alexa has a USGA title???

First off, I do not come here to bash anyone and think those that are critical of juniors, are probably parents with an issue towards them. I'd strongly imagine you have issue with her to go looking to post scores . Your business. I will note any parent with issues like cheating as I've seen it many times.

But, you couldn't be more wrong. Right now, in all Female golf. The leader in endorsement $$, is Paige Spirinac, nearly double that of Wie, or Lexi. The fastest riser, is Amanda Balionis, not many wins amongst her or Paige. Sponsors, do not care about scores in junior tournaments, they want people whose name, image, likeness, will sell their products. In junior golf today, maybe a small handful will attract attention of signifigance, 3, maybe 4. We are not talking about selling golf balls, things like makeup, dresses etc, all this will happen, as teen market untouched.

So, NIL, means, yes accomplished, but also, well spoken, well known, attractive, fit, intelligent etc. Short , heavy, not attractive, they won't touch.  Like it or not, it's what it is.

References?  Even though Paige overwhelms Michelle or Lexi with 3,100,000 Instagram followers; but she doesn't have many endorsements.  Even her 2017 PXG deal has since disappeared.

I know Web Influencers can earn money based on their followers; but that isn't the same as endorsements.

Spiranac is a POSER influencer...nothing more....if the tools stopped following her on social media she'd be a nothing.

A cry baby hypocrite.....doesn't want women to be objectified...yet she's the 1st one to show off her body to get clicks.

Although the field at Trust Golf Women's Scottish Open is better than the ISPS Handa last week, it's still pretty weak.  Yuka Saso is the only Rolex Top-10 player in the field.

However, there're more participation from rank and file LPGA players.  As a result, the cutoff is CME ranking of #107.  Olympians such as Bianca Pagdanganan, Tiffany Chan, Alena Sharp, Kelly Tan and Maria Fassi are all on reserve list.

Minjee at #8 RR is still listed in the field.

A fairly good list of entrants.....still lots of other good pros to fanboy who are playing.

That's what Alison Whitaker gathered speaking with members of Shanshans team , as what Alison said on the coverage around 7pm ET...

Anna Nordqvist posted a pic of herself and Shanshan on IG saying Happy Retirement, one can assume Shanshan told her. Then again, maybe Shanshan is still contemplating it. We'll see.

This tournament will be played on a brand new link style course a few miles from St. Andrew and Carnoustie. List of invitees Has 3 obscured Thai pros and 2 local pros which is kind of strange.

    • Sony Open Pics from January 11, 2022 Part 1
I was able to get out to the Sony Open today to take a few pics.  I guess due to Covid precautions they kept the spectators pretty far from the players.  Also due to camera restrictions they've put in place, I wasn't able to bring the big lens like I normally do. Hopefully they'll ease up on the ropes and I'll be able to get more pics tomorrow!
