Speaking of Japanese, seems like these 2 major winners paired together had too much "fun" on the back 9 ending at -1 after round 1 at the Toto... Heck both were -3 after 10 holes and stumbled in the end - funny how pairing them ended up like this lol. (They were having fun comparing notes, joking about their height etc etc - maybe too much fun lol)

Let's see how much either can catch up to the leader tonight. Still early days as only 6 behind with 3 RNDS still

Shibuno isn't  a great putter and demonstrated it in rd 1.

IMO...she puts to much pace on her putts.

OK....what gives?

Why doesn't have a steady loop?....is Tina managing Shibuno's golf decisions.

She was back to wearing Beams....again...why not stick to one brand?

She does go aggressive on some putts - but that's been her strategy/strength and weakness -- she's extremely aggressive - which netted her the Open on that aggressive putt, for example...  she does know how to lag putt too but her mindset has been ALWAYS, never leave it short, especially on key moments...

She's spending a lot of time in the US and Japan particularly after 2019, so her "steady loop" isn't with her anymore as she can't play every tournament in Japan.  Besides, it's been noted she's definitely planning for the US - a bit premature given she doesn't have a card yet but definitely already "testing" some foreign loops - a new zealander for one - i forgot his name LOL

Dunno how she ended up wearing Beams this time around, could be bec it's a "major" Japanese tournament but I doubt - for now i guess she's wearing whatever suits her (or whatever is specified in both contracts).  https://golf.hochi.co.jp/archives/66069

Yup....it's pretty well GUARANTEED The Zhangster will be offered the "Yani" deal from The GREAT People of China on Jan. 1/2022.

I'll give Rose a bag of White Rabbit candy if I get the chance to see her play sometime in the future.

Heck GAGGED with a 78 and brought down Team Merica to T5 while the GOAT shot a 69.

Hopefully Walker does the right thing and kicks Rachel off the travelling team.

SNaP is one of US team captains.

Salimah Mussani of Riverway is the Canuck team captain.

Team Shibuno should reach out to Bob Turner if he has any leads to a good loop for Shibuno.

I assume Shibuno has a good bilingual road manager now or lined up?

I haven't seen him for a while...there was a white guy with a pony tail who used to loop on the JLPGA???...I think he used to loop for Nasa prior to Greg J. on her bag now.

Who is Shibuno's current agent?

So did ICTSI dump Yuka?

This is empty rhetoric.

Uhmm...actually, it is their statement of support in which they announced that their support for Yuka extends beyond citizenship and that they will be part of her journey in becoming a global icon (in golf).   After all, it is their statement (ICTSI) and it could very well have just said:

Yes -- we will continue our sponsorship with Yuka.

But they didn't in such a direct way.  They inserted some nice motherhood statements and I suspect that it was done to soften the blow to those in the Philippines who were hoping that she would reject the lure of the Japanese passport.  There was also an accompanying story in the Philippine news outlets that covered the story in more detail.

Yes, mikako Katherine taya... She speaks fluently both English and Japanese... Call her a manager, agent etc lol

I doubt Turner can handle everything that both Hideki and Hinako needs. Besides I'm sure Hideki's going to pay more, obviously. Maybe Bob's team (his son) might be able to help but I'm got no access to him (nor Hinako) lol

You didn't answer my question.

So is ICTSI still going to financially sponsor Yuka?

I can say I'm supporting Yuka...but it doesn't mean I'm opening my wallet to hand her any money.

I wasn't implying Bob work for Shibuno....I was stating that maybe Bob knows a lower level loop on the PGA tour who might be a candidate for a short list for a potential FT loop if indeed Shibino is successful in Q-Series.

I'm sure she'll have more than enough to choose from if she gets her card, heck I'd caddy for her if she wants lol

An aside, those two in the same flight (Yuka and Hinako) aren't going to win TOTO. Sure, no cut event but they're way back already even if there's still over 2.5 rounds to go... Let's see if they can at least make top 15

At least Yuka speaks Japanese and has spent time in Japan. There are some Japanese athletes who represent Japan but can't give a basic interview in Japanese and then accuse the Japanese media of harassment for that.

Yes, I give Yuka credit for at least speaking the language and living there -- tough to be in her shoes, truth be told.  She's extremely fortunate to have quite a bit of options (dual citizenship being one for now)

YES THEY ARE.  In the world of sponsorship - it involves financial support/and or goods & equipment in kind.  In the case of ICTSI and Yuka, it was a financial sponsorship.  What else are they going to support her with?  Container cargo services?  😆

"There was also an accompanying story in the Philippine news outlets that covered the story in more detail."

There are several news sources in the Philippines reporting on this and that ICTSI and Ricky Razon's (owner/CEO) ontinued support of Yuka regardless of citizenship.

Finally, a deal is nearing for Nelly!  Hopefully, when it rains, it pours!

Nelly Korda flexes unreleased Air Jordan Golf model

"This move may be a sign of a collab in the works: Air Jordan has yet to add a female golfer as a brand ambassador, so look out for Nelly to be the first—a position she seems to find herself in a lot lately."

Do you know how much Yuka could make if they gave her 500 cargo containers?.....especially ones filled with golf equipment that's bag logged from China.

Since the pandemic....I believe the price of shipping a cargo container has 4 or 5 folded in price increases.

Isabella Fierro is a player, she can give Rose a run for all the marbles:

Perhaps now  and at this event and I may eat my hat in a few years but Isabella is overrated. Even Lorena said she was next but really hasn’t done anything to show it. Her Instagram account shows that she is more in love with being “known” than focusing on becoming a good golfer. I just honestly  think no one will have the tunnel vision to become a legend anymore. In tennis, I thought Naomi Osaka had the game to be better than Serena but her overexposure and money hungry team have proven they can’t nurture her talent. She is the prime example of Generation Me.

Former Indian Golfer Simi Mehra said something similar about how today’s stars are blessed with talent, fame and money yet are anxious and depressed. She said let me take them to India and I’ll show them depression, I’ll show them anxiety and I’ll show them desperation, something along those lines which is why I don’t have it as a direct quote.

It almost actually turns me away from golf and sport when you see how blessed, gifted and talented people are but are satisfied just to be famous and have enough money. Contrary to most, I didn’t play a lot of golf during lockdowns and such but as I played more recently you truly realize how good these players are.

Yup, between Osaka, Simmons (Ben), the cheating Astros, etc etc -- sometimes I am on the verge of just not bothering with NBA (already not watching as much), MLB (only watching during playoffs), NFL (only watching highlights), PGA (still watching a few esp if Hideki is in the tournament), etc... Thankfully I never really had any iota of interest in NHL.  Lol. With sucky weather in Toronto for gold from nov-may, I'm glad I can spend hours on the bike (even on a trainer)  and running - now that's true sports lol.

Happy to see you setting it straight that 18majors shouldn't be fawning over a Mexican POSER.🤣
