Does that say v steel near the weight? Use to have a v steel fairway and was not aware they were putting the name back out there

That is the ticket for really sending it with a fairway wood though. Get the CG down really low and it will launch higher and spin less. I also wouldn't be surprised if putting the weight back was meant to offset possibly shrinking the front to back length of the head since the SIM is pretty big.

I think you're probably right. Sounds like the SIM2 Ti is going to be a little smaller than SIM Ti.

The sim2 fwy design excites me almost as much as the sim driver design did last year. 

 

I'm shafting up a ventus blue for testing as soon as the test heads arrive at retailers.

Any confirmation of the rocket loft? The conforming list had it at 13* but some think that’s a tour only loft?

if they continue to use the 2* loft sleeve you can go down to 11 or up to 15.

Hmm. Never paid it much attention, but the sim fwy looks hugely closed and I think a lot has to do with twistface. My 17 m2 looks so square compared to sim. Was really excited about sim2 in the fairways.  May have to temper that excitement a bit

Unfortunately with Taylormade, you have to pick the head. Their QA isn't the best.  In addition, the decal on top of the head is all over the place, some crooked, some towards the toe and some heel.

Typically, TwistFace would make a club look more open, because the toe slightly more lofted and open so it can correct a shut face, defending toe hit. Contrast with the heel which is more closed and de-lofted to counteract an open-faced upward heel strike.

I think you probably just found some really closed ones, which are common in big box stores. I've put down half a dozen SIM 3-woods set neutral and I definitely saw at least +/- 3* in terms of face angle. A couple have sat open, most seemed to sit slightly to moderately closed.
