PXG Irons First Round

Getting rid of irons because you can't chip with them? That is a new one! What do you feel is holding you back? I see you only carry a single 54* wedge. It might be worth investing some grinds that you feel comfortable with greenside. Perhaps a 52 and 58 combo.

My 0311T's have been very good thus far.   I have played twice and scored 78 and 75 which is not terrible for March.  On the 75 is was very windy.

The 0311T had very good distance control (read: no hot rockets).  I was able to hit 12/18 Gir on the 75.  It should have been lower score but the greens are rough and very slow from snowmelt and not being mowed yet (still brown).  I missed five birdies just from putting it short.  It seemed like every putt was short.

At any rate, the feel of these irons is simply excellent and the best I have experienced .  Balls would stop on the green well with these.  Without a doubt better than the i500s for me.

I had 3 par three shots with a 5 Iron and all stopped close.   I converted one birdie out of the three.

In the pics, those are 5,5,PW, 5.  All of the 5's were significantly uphill.  quite happy with the spin/stop.  Using TP5x.

I'm having a rough time lately for some reason. I just can't seem to figure anything out lately. The XF's move the ball, but my short game accuracy has went somewhere, hiding in a bunker?  Hopefully things will change and my health will improve. Will I try the XF's again, you bet. I have to admit the Cobra F9's are really good clubs, and their hottest model is patterned after them, the Rad Speed, so that should tell you something.

I enjoy chipping the best with the 9 iron, and I bet I am not alone.

I have to admit I use a cleveland smart sole c for chipping.  I'll probably take some ridicule here for admitting that, but it is just an extremely accurate club for that purpose.  I ditched my 60 for it, although I may swap those two depending on a particular course.  lowest wedge i have is a 56(glide 3.0), then a 51(0311T gw) and 46(0311T pw).  The ridicule on the course dies down after the first one chipped close.

What a mess I am. I have put the PXG back in the bag. I tried the Apex 19 again, and just needed more forgiveness. So these came back out and for some reason, the accuracy decided to show up! It was in the 70's and these clubs really performed well. They will stay in the bag for now, and the aw was really performing. I had a blast today. I need more days like this, and hopefully the warm weather will hang around. The ground dried up a little so we got some run.
