What summer golf Hat do you wear?

That's a nice hat with great coverage.

What is it about golfers, even up to the professional level, that are so sensitive about their appearance that they would forgo sun protection?

I couldn't answer for them. I go every six months now to my dermatologist and have my ears, temples and cheeks checked. My reckoning was I had a a good size chunk removed from my shoulder blade about 4 years ago. It scared me pretty good.

Imperial Old Norse.  It has a liner that you can douse with water every few holes to keep you even cooler, plus it gives good sun protection.

The functionality of that hat must be great, I'm just trying to get comfortable with how it looks. Why is this so difficult?

Tilley or baseball cap - if it's windy definitely the baseball cap. Sunscreen is important, my dermatologist is very judgmental.

I'm thinking of going straw and somewhere there is a thread I found last summer maybe with a lead on a cool kind of wide brimmed outdoor activity hat that I was going to buy then forgot to do so.

I don't use the chin strap (it snaps off).  Otherwise it's a good looking hat.  I get lots of compliments.

That hat has a large brim, which is good, but does the wind blow the brim up ?

Sometimes, but only if it's blowing really hard.  There's also a cord to tighten the fit around the brim which keeps it in place well.

Here is an interesting candidate, has anybody have this summer hat? It is full featured:

I'm both bald and have a broad face so a ball cap style does not work.  I have several broad brim ones I can use,  including the newer and  lighter version of the Titleist Aussie hat.

But my favourite now is a fairly new model from Tilley, The Clubhouse that I purchased last summer.  Lightweight and cooler than other Tilley hats I've used. Even has a magnetic ball marker in the brim.  Not as broad as some hats,  but I use a pullcart with umbrella or ride.  Expensive but worth it in my opinion. I have both the light colour and the black for not so sunny days.  If I was a normal year and we were doing travel,  it also would be my go-to to take along on sightseeing days etc. not just for golf.  And like all Tilley hats it washes well in one of those mesh bags. tp101_stone_b.jpg.ccdb400013b9bb12fe7a70aaf9db5325.jpg

I usually wear a basic baseball cap, usually New Era.  I did buy a Shelta hat late last season though and plan to wear that on sunny days next summer.

Just a comment that  UV exposure still occurs on cloudy days, and can sometimes be more intense from reflection off clouds.

It's pricy, but I don't mind spending money on something of good quality and functionality. That is a stylish looking hat, but a part of me would like to see a wider brim. How is your assessment of the brim width?

Here are side by side and on top of comparisons of the Tilley Clubhouse and the Titleist Aussie to help you gauge. Certainly a smaller "headprint" than the Titleist, but adequate IMO.  Bit of curvature down at front and back especially that probably extends the face and neck coverage than one of the same size that stuck more straight out. But again, I use a pushcart with an umbrella (or ride occasionally) so I'm spending less time under direct sun than someone who carries their bag.

Some of the Sun Hats I looked at purchasing, there were a few others besides what this list encompasses, but these were serious considerations:

This was one of my final choices, it has great coverage, looks good, cinch bungie, wicks moisture, ventillation, etc, :
https://www.amazon.com/Coolibar-Mens-Womens-Fore-Golf/dp/B081FZN61J/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=sun+protection+golf+hats&qid=1612196117&sr=8-2

This straw hat was a consideration as a 'no-nonsense' great protector from the sun style hat. Resonably priced, it would protect probably better then all the rest, but a bit cumbersome:
https://www.australiangear.com/kooringal-mens-hastings-surf-hat-natural.html

Good choice, decent looking, great coverage, adjustable fit, doesn't have a chin strap:
https://www.amazon.com/Coolibar-UPF-Unisex-Matchplay-Golf/dp/B01N39MA9R/ref=sr_1_6?dchild=1&keywords=sun+protection+golf+hats&qid=1612196117&sr=8-6

Decent choice, great coverage and ventillation:
https://www.amazon.com/Coolibar-UPF-Mens-Crushable-Ventilated/dp/B001NXVEWQ/ref=sr_1_10?dchild=1&keywords=sun%2Bprotection%2Bgolf%2Bhats&qid=1612196117&sr=8-10&th=1

Decent choice with many accessories, but looks a little to sloppy with the folds and wrinkles:
https://www.amazon.com/Frogg-Toggs-Hellbender-Wading-Jacket/dp/B005H2CAL8/ref=sr_1_23?dchild=1&keywords=sun+protection+golf+hats&qid=1612196117&sr=8-23

The Titleist sun hat appears to be made well, look decent, have many accessories, and would have really considered it if it weren't for the billboard (over the top) advertising they put on it:
https://www.amazon.com/Titleist-Mens-Tour-Aussie-Black/dp/B07PXTX6FS/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=titleist+golf+sun+hat&qid=1612197385&sr=8-1

One of my finalists, the Shelta has all the accessories, although a bit pricey I think it would be worth it. I like the reinforced front brim and the bungies, and I could see me getting this one in the future:
https://www.sheltahats.com/collections/sun-hats/products/the-condor-performance-sun-hat

I really like this one due to the cooling affect you can get by wetting the hat with water. It has many desired accessories and looks decent. This was the one I almost ordered, and still might. It depends on how the Sunday Afternoon hat I ordered turns out:
https://www.imperialsports.com/product/cc050-the-old-norse-cooling-sun-protection-hat/

This is the one I finally ordered, due to it's coverage and accessories. It covers as well as any out there, with the rear flap and wide brim, has a sunglass holder, cinch up bungie adjustment, wicks moisture, good ventillation, and folds up to a point where it will slip into a pocket in the golf bag. One con that I might say is it is a unisex hat and it 'may' look a bit bi-gender, and not manly enough?

I normally just wear a visor.  I don't like my hair flattening out wearing caps.  But last year I was getting burnt on the back of my neck (even with sunscreen).

If I can't find the Titleist Aussie hat, I'm thinking about getting this one from Adidas:  https://www.adidas.com/us/uv-sun-hat/FI3032.html  Looks pretty similar.

@myspinonitThat's a nice looking lid. I'm bald too and play in the Arizona sun. Any idea where to pick up one of these? Everywhere I look is out of stock.

I would just Google, but maybe that's what you have already done. The stone colour was out of stock at Tilley when I looked last summer. I found a company in Quebec that had one lechapelier.ca, but don't see it available there now.

But... it looks like the L XL (the one I have) is in stock at Tilley Canada.
