Was it confirmed he was gone from TM?  Can't see any manufacturer taking too big of a gamble on him with his back issues.

He’s not listed on the website for TM anymore, gone with Rahm this morning

Thanks for checking that...I'd say that confirms it.

Not too bold of a prediction but I wouldn't be surprised to see him go without a club contract. I doubt he'll want to take the Spider out of the bag in particular and he'll get to experiment for the first time in years.

A high profile player like Day would've been signed by a major OEM by now but since we've not heard of the slightest rumor about that, I think he's gonna play without a club contract.  He still has his clothing contract with Nike.

If that is the case it will be very interesting to see what clubs will be in his bag in this new year since he has the freedom to pick and choose what sticks he will game from any OEM.

My guess is he's been searching for something equipment wise. If I remember right he was switching back and forth between M6 and SIM this last year. I would guess we see a new set of irons, wedges and either older TM woods or something different. Ball and putter stay the same, but you never know.

I am guessing he goes unaffiliated for a bit. He has that Nike clothing money coming in, so why sign?

I don’t think he’s likely to sign anywhere. It would be best for him considering his health and to alleviate the pressures and stress on having to perform and tournament commitments under a OEM contract. He can have autonomy of equipment selection and date commitments for the first time of his career.

Rooting for him to get healthy and his game back in form.

I agree with this although I think it will be an old set of irons. Wouldn’t it be sick if he brought the PSi Tours back

Day would be an excellent "face" for Club Champion.  Carry a CC bag and help sell their custom fitting services.  He would be able to play anything and it could further add to the "play what's actually best for you" angle.

IMO, JD definitely has a marketable personality and a take like this with CC or any other OEM may be able to derive some value from his personality alone. That and if he can stay somewhat relevant on tour, a opportunity will present itself.

Good idea! CC can replace Spieth with Day. Get rid of the guy struggling with his game for a guy struggling with his health.

Nike contract makes it easy for those guys to be a free agent.

IF you were a Nike staffer when they stopped making clubs and didn’t sign with another club manufacturer.  I don’t believe Day was as he was with Taylor Made Adidas.

With Nike having so many staffers(clothing/shoes), I’d be very surprised if Day was making anymore than $150,000 or $200,000 a season from them.  Tiger, Brooks, Rory...that’s the Nike staffers getting paid.

Sorry, missed the part where professional athletes couldn't land endorsements due to health concerns. The guy has the gift of gab topped with an accent. Has to be worth something. hah.

It’s not much of an endorsement deal for CC if the guy endorsing your company isn’t in the field playing due to injury. The endorsement is showing how beneficial his CC fitting has been to his success on the course. At least with Spieth, CC will get 2 days of endorsement visibility.

The initial plan is to go without a contract and likely stay with mostly older TM clubs for the time being. He has a pretty big Nike Contract and he is more about getting back to winning. The comments about him going back the the RSi irons could be right! He is comfortable with some of the older things that he has had success with. Preferring comfortable over new. But the "signature players" are usually required to be up to date. Look at Daniel Berger he left TM for the Callaway $$ and he disappeared. He broke he contract with Callaway so that he could go back to his old TM irons and acquired some back up sets to assure he could stay with them for awhile. And of course he returned to victory and relevance.  I have that set with very little use and I am going to part with them if he needs more.  I think we all look forward to J-Day to return to the winner's circle.

Definitely must be a case of a mixed bag. For me, the ball in particular is the interesting one. For all the talk of how good the Taylor Made ball is, there doesn’t seem to be many Tour Pro’s using it when they are not contracted to. Justin Rose stuck with it when he moved over to Honma back in 2019, will JDay?

As a huge fan of JDay, I hope he consistently finds his form back.  I don't care if he plays with Ping Eye2's and a Nike Sasquatch.  If he he wins you'll see me with a big smile on my face.
