I did not expect to see a 2-Ball in that lineup. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I am more interested in seeing the Artisan prototypes; whether they are similar to mine or not.

The headcover in the Dave Woods IG story leads me to think White Hot OG. Will be interesting to see whether he has a double bend shaft or a custom slant/flow neck.

Based on the Tuesday Pics from Torrey it looks to be the White Hot OG 2 Ball with the custom mid slant neck we see from time to time.

Obviously Day doesn't need the money that would come with an equipment contract. Had to have been offers from other companies to come on board with them, but I'd imagine it came down to a cost benefit analysis. Pretty easy to see where the money from a contract wouldn't add up to the benefit of playing exactly what you want to AND just as importantly, if not more so, having more time to spend with your wife and young kids because you're not having to attend events for your equipment sponsor.

The 2 Ball being in there is so interesting given all the success he had with the Spider/Ten head shape. The BXS being in there is also an attention getter.

I am guessing that it wasn't his choice to not have a sponsor and that TaylorMade decided not to renew his deal.

Much more likely that TM wanted to keep him but were only willing to do so at a reduced price. Given how much time he's missed with injury recently that'd certainly be understandable, as would be Day not agreeing to a cut in compensation while still having to keep the commitments that would come with that sponsorship.

I know he was not happy with his equipment recently.

Seems like he hasn't been happy with his "woods" since the M2 days when they had to make the deep face just for him. He loved that Aeroburner 3W and they forced him out of it.

Why players allow manufacturers dictate what they put in their bag is mind boggling. They should be able to play what works for them in that brands arsenal. If I owned a golf company I would want the guy I’m paying millions of dollars to play well. I think that helps sell clubs as they are on TV more. What do I know though. Making them swap out gear and watch them struggle is a bad look. Tmade clubs are gimmicky is Sim 2 really that much better than SIM 1? Highly doubt it.

DJ would prob still have hit V Steal 4 wood if he had his way. If Day wanted to keep an M2 and Aeroburner 3 wood in the bag let him if he plays well. If he stinks up the joint then maybe have a talk with him about changing it up for brand awareness. Why any regular Joe cares what clubs tour pros play makes no sense anyway. Most people can’t break 90 consistently and will never be able to effectively use the equipment a tour pro uses.

How many times have we seen a guy chase the endorsement money and his game goes to hell. I think there should be more bad press when this happens. Hold these guys accountable for their products. Instead they drop a guy like Day who probably hated their new stuff for years. I think it would be hilarious if the top 20 guys on tour got to build their own bag for a day. We would see what they really think. Also time might stop.

I think they are more likely to adjust and play well to newer or different clubs then we can or want too... but i think for sure theyd rather stick in what they feels and plays best for them... i dont know about anyone else but when i hit something i feel looks off or feels off... its very frustrating and even in the event that its just me and not the club my mind and confidence cant get over it and thinks its just the club and it very well may be just the club... example that can go for any club? why else can i smack a 3wood i like perfectly in every way but a 3wood i dont... top, hook, push,top...

i can't imagine any pga player playing something they hate. i also don't know how a equipment company pushes 'newer is better' if their sponsored players are all playing older generations of clubs.

Amazing to see the continued love for the White Hot/2 Ball.  Can not argue with the ease of alignment.  I guess it's all a matter of what suits your eye.  And gets the ball in the hole...

They need to sell equipment to make money and marketing their players using the newest gear sells, this is proven.

Of course the newer stuff won't be much, if any better - but they need to keep the money flowing in and a lot of people are sucked into it, whether they shoot in the 60s or the 90s.

What else are they going to do, tell you not to upgrade and keep what you have.

Is a business after all.

For me I have tried a lot of the new stuff, but still play my Srixon 745s and some old wedges that I like. I am confident that new gear would not make me any better, but for sure I am in the minority here.

I have an original 2 ball putter, is pretty worn looking - I might treat myself to a new one - not because I think it will make me any better or I need one, but I quite fancy one that looks a bit newer and less worn. I also love the look of the red shaft; there you go it works for me also!

L.A.B. Golf is choosing ten GolfWRX members to receive their MEZZ.1 putter early and put their brand new product to the test before reporting back to the community about what they see. The selected testers will be one of the first to experience the MEZZ.1 from L.A.B. GOLF, their newest Lie Angle Balanced design, ahead of it's January 2022 launch!

About The L.A.B. Golf Mezz.1 Putter
MEZZ.1 is our new mid-mallet putter that’s fully CNC machined from a billet of 6061 aircraft aluminum (body) and 303 stainless steel (midsection) to create our best-feeling — and we think best looking — putter to date. It includes 10 weights (eight on the bottom, two on the sides) that allow us to individually build each putter to a golfer’s exact specifications.

      How To Apply
In a post below, answer the following questions.

      1. City, State?
      2. Handicap?
      3. What is your current putter?
      4. Have you ever used a L.A.B. Golf putter?
      5. Why do you want to review the MEAZZ.1 putter?
      6. Do you agree to participate in an ongoing testing thread, posting reviews and photos?

That's it! @labgolf and GolfWRX will choose the testers in about 2 weeks! This testing event is for good-standing members in the USA only!
