Ken @ Victory Custom Golf / Charlotte Club Fitters

Hey y'all.

 

After 20 years of playing golf, I've decided to actually get fitted for some new clubs. A bit of background, I'm a 1 handicap and play Mizuno MP68s/Project X 6.0. Looking to get fitted for some new irons and was searching around Charlotte for different fitters. Initially looking at Club Champion but seeing some mixed reviews. Apparently there is high praise for Ken Husvar at Victory Custom Golf but I have not been able to contact him. The number on his site gives a "busy" tone whenever I dial it and I cannot find his email address. Does anyone know of a way to contact him? Or does anyone have any recommendation of places to get iron fit?

I'm in CLT as well. You might take a look at True Spec located at the Pine Needles practice facility. It is an easy 2 hour drive and you can make it an excuse for getting out on PN, Mid Pines, #4, or of course #2. I've got a wedge fitting scheduled there for the 23rd and can relay how the experience goes. But reviews I've seen (there is also a YouTube video of a 3 wood fitting) are solid. Plus, they have a short game facility where you can test wedges off grass and bunker. 

 

I got my current set fitted at Club Champion. My review would be mixed as well. The technology, equipment, and customer service was quality, but I did feel like I was being upsold a bit throughout (the $400 Bettinardi has been a life changer though lol). I also feel like their monitor inflated distances a bit, but you can kind of take that into account going in.

I would love to hear some feedback after you True Spec experience. I’m looking to do a fitting in the spring and the ability to hit outside there is really appealing. 
 

To the OP, I went to Victory a few years ago to get a set of irons reshafted. Was happy with the work but also found them difficult to contact. Can’t speak to them for fittings.
