Electric "push" carts

One of the girls we played against had her grandfather on the bag using one of these motorized push carts—it slowed up our threesome (last group out, 205 heat index that day) so much that the TD had to try and urge the “group” to play faster.  This particular cart was about as fast as a casual stroll.  Not sure if it was capable of going faster, but that was a brutal product introduction for us.

Funny you brought this up.  My friend offered to let my son borrow remote cart this weekend for a HJGT event at a very hilly course.   @leezer99 your think it would be against HJGT rules?

Pull carts are allowed in all age divisions. Motorized pull carts are not allowed at any event.

I don't think motorized cars are allowed in any event.   Don't know why anyone would want one those things things I only seen them on small executive courses where old man use them because they don't allow carts.  If you have a need for a motorized push cart then enter an amateur event that allows carts they exist out there.

They're a dime a dozen at my local course.  So much that I picked one up and use it religiously now.  It's wonderful, and faster than any normal push cart.

You can actually disconnect the drive gear so it rolls just like a normal push cart in an emergency.

I've heard that the FCG tour has allowed the carts at some events.  Just trying to figure out if it's worth  fighting to use.  They're wonderful and save a whole bunch of energy.

The weekend group of like 12 guys all have them.  Actually 1 guy still carries.  LOL.  All the rest have an electric push cart and rave about them.  Only issue is a few of them had the remote in their pockets and almost steered their carts into bunkers/water hazards. lol!!

I don't see the need for juniors to use anything like this?  Push carts are fine make life easy but a motorized has no use unless your playing a un-walkable course. If that is the case then it should only be played using carts or the players shuttled between holes.

I would also think a lot kids would be embarrassed if they used one. I get having gadgets but a golf cart is much better and not much more money then those things.

I know you are $$, but aren't the basic ones like $700 and the ones that follow you around in the $1,500 range??

I am pretty surprised to be reading this in a junior/college forum

aren't these for people who are old/weak or have health issues that prevent them from carrying or using a regular push cart?

Our club doesn't allow your everyday Clicgear type pushcart.  It's either, golf cart, motorized cart or carry.  And the motorized cart has to be on the approved list.

There's definitely something more important that I should be doing.
