Mavrik max with project x

I currently play callway rogue cf18 irons with xp95s300 stiff shafts.  I like the irons do not like shafts. I sold this set and ordered a set of mavrik max irons with the elevate 95 stiff shafts. 

I also ordered a set of project x 6.5 x stiff low launch shafts. 

I know these game improvement irons comes with shafts designed to help people get the ball higher. I do not need help with launch but rather consistency. 

I am an equipment nut. So I am also bidding on a set of std mavrik irons.  Going to experiment with project x shafts in both heads to see which one I hit better. 

I am a 12 handicap. 89-92 mph with 6i, 100-105 with driver.  When in groove I can hit a nice long draw or occasional fade. I am normally too high with irons.   I have inconsistent dispersion with irons. Fairly consistent with driver. 

I really hope new shafts will help me lower trajectory with better dispersion.

I’m pretty sure the Project  x shafts are not low launch.  What might help your ballflight with these shafts is the weight and the fact that the 6.5 might be too stiff for you judging by the speeds you posted.

 

The oz is similar to the Nippon modus 130 which is high launch low spin.

Heavier shaft with firmer wrists will keep it low and consistent is my experience

Project x 6.5  steel are definitely low launch low spin shafts. 

Anyone else struggle with hitting ball too high?

I think the xp95 and the elevate 95 shafts are paired qith these SGI irons to help beginners get ball in air.  That's not not issue. 

I also really do not need any help with distance, I want more control, tighter dispersion.  I am hoping a heavier stiffer shaft will help me get more control.
