Just goes to show that wedges are very personal and individual. I loved my RTX 3.

RTX4 was a major upgrade to the Cleveland RTX wedges. RTX3 IMO were very meh and I know lots of people that weren't fans.

 

I'd go a some RTX4s on sale or any of the others you have listed over RTX3.

I have played Cleveland wedges since High School.  I have tried Vokey's, Cally, TM, BStone, Mizuno, and some others.  I always end up back with Clevelands.

 

Most of the trialing I did was during the RTX 3.  I was not a fan of the shape.  Something about how the hosel blended into the head I didn't like.  

 

The RTx4 and CBx 2 are excellent wedges and I love them.  I have heard nothing but good on the Zip Core, although I have not looked to replace my current wedges, because I liked them so much I have a couple of back ups for the mid and higher lofts.

I played the RTX3 wedges, and then the RTX4 wedges. The RTX3 wedges were great wedges. I think the RTX4's were an overall improvement in my opinion, but I play with guys that still swear by the RTX3's and bought up a few when the RTX4's came out at the discounted price.

 

As 95124hacker said... very personal and individual. I am questioning now moving onto the Zipcore. I've hit them, they are very nice, but I really like my RTX4's..

Couldn't resist. I bought a mint RTX 3 56 degree mid bounce black satin on the bay. Not sure what I'll fill the gap with but if this works out, I'll probably look for a 50 or 52 over the winter. Thanks for the feedback.

I picked up a used RTX3 50* wedge a few months ago for a couple of reasons.

 

1. I found that, to my eye, my Vokey SM7 did not flow visually from my Srixon Z565 irons. I'm not saying for a second that the RTX3 is a better club than the Vokey but its shape and V sole are a better transition from the Srixon PW.

 

2. As an added bonus, the RTX3 came with an NS Pro Modus shaft that matches the irons well.

I have both RTX3 and RTX 4 wedges. Both worked fine for me. 

I think all wedges in their respective categories more or less perform the same but I know there's lots of people who would disagree with my opinion.  So, I think it comes down to personal preference.

I have the RTX-3 CB version and they work fine for me.  They're easy to hit and when I hit them well/properly they do what they're supposed to.  I'm a guy who once I find something that works, tend to stick with it until it doesn't.  I don't think going to a RTX-4, Zipcore, or other brand/type will improve my shots.  In this case it's the Indian not the arrow.

 

 

One more thing, I got all of my wedges (RTX-3) news for $80 or less, so that made me happy too.

I’m considering an RTX 3 CB for my gap. A little forgiveness on an approach shot should be a positive for my game. For some reason I’m liking the look of the RTX 3’s vs the CBX and newer blade offerings.
