Jose Maria Olazabal Wedge Specs?

Hey guys does anyone know what specs or have any more pictures of Ollie's wedges from the past 2-3 years? 

 

From the picture I found from 2017, he's using Vokey's in a 52.5° and 58° loft. Looking to see what bounce/grind he uses, so any info or pics would be perfect!

JMO's wedges throughout his career, lob wedge in particular, have been based off of the Cleveland 485 wedge that he played for several years during his prime.  Wide sole,  plenty of bounce, some offset and a little heel and toe relief.  Current equivalent would be a Vokey K grind with some offset bent into it and a little taken off the heel and toe.  All time great short game artist!

I could watching him pitch and chip all day. Thanks for the info! I messaged a few Vokey Tour guys, so let's hope they get back with the full specs.

That does seem to be what those wedges are. Before I read your post I looked and them and thought K-grind for sure with maybe a little modification.

I sent the picture to the Wedge Wizard himself, Aaron Dill and he just messaged me back. He said, "They are very custom. The 52.5° is an M grind with 10 degrees of bounce and the 58° is a wide M."

 

I asked him if the Wide M would be similar to a K grind with heel, toe and trail edge relief. He said, "It would be similar but it wouldn't match exactly because his sole demensions are so exotic".

How does this compare to a PM grind?

 

Looks similar on the toe edge, which I love.

Look up the Txema brand that once made wedges just like his.  Some of the best wedges I've played.

I have seen the Txema wedges and they do look beautiful, they are forged too hey? Did you have the JMO or USA Grind? The JMO grind looks pretty similar to what he has on his Vokey's.

 

Here's photo of the JMO Grind on the Txema wedges. Kinda looks like a K Grind with some relief and smoothed grind lines.

Agree.  I had the JMO grind and yes forged.  Really nice wedges.

If you want an exact copy it might be worth talking to NCW. From what I know, Don White has made a fair few wedges for Ollie in the MacGregor days.

The sole description fits the bill too, wide sole with full relief (heel, toe and trailing edge). Unreal price for a forged wedge head!

I own em. They're worth it. They're as good and any other forged wedge you'll find. They frame the ball well. My only "getting used to" is that the leading edge is quite rounded. Dude, $51 per wedge and they're forged. Just pull the trigger you've likely wasted more on less.

Oh I've spent way more on way less 😂. I'll definitely be picking up a 58 degree with an S400. 

 

Do you have any pictures of the sole on your lob wedge? Just curious to see it from a few different angles.
