Hawaii Golf

I'm moving to Hawaii! I have been to Maui before and played a few rounds, but curious if anyone has a lot of experience there and any set are up recommendations, ie. driving iron for windy days or wedge recommendations for grass type? I'll be on Oahu so any home course recommendations would be appreciated as well!

Ko Olina and Turtle Bay both in Oahu are in my top 10 course in Hawaii.  You probably know that you will have to play a lot of punch shots into the wind and get creative creative around the greens with all that unpredictable bermuda grass.  Def learn to play the stinger for tee shots if you haven't already.  Good luck and I envy you, lol.

You're a lucky guy! My son served 4 month internship in downtown Honolulu in summer 2019. I got to spend total of 23 days in 3 trips but did not have much time for golf due to non-golfing wife that wanted to travel. A good friend of mine's works for Navy as civilian accountant so he took me to Navy Marine and Kanehoe golf courses. I enjoyed both courses. I wished I had more time to play Ko Olina and couple other courses.

 

In my past trips, I have played on Kapalua Plantation, Wailea, Ocean Course at Hokuala and Mauna Kea.
