Srixon z585 irons

I currently play ping i e1 irons and have had good success with them, But recently came across an opportunity to pick up a used set of z585 irons at a great price. Was curious if anyone has happen to have played both, and how you would compare the two . Especially forgiveness. Both have modus 3 105 shafts. Or any comparison appreciated! Thanks!

I played the E1s years ago and then to the Srixon 565 and now 585.

I like 585's the best based upon the looks, playability (sole grind), and distance (better than the Pings). Forgiveness was about the same.

yes, still playing the 585s.

I have seen the new ZX5s and from the address position look extremely close to the 585s. I suspect the only difference between the two is the the ZX5s will have minutia better performance on off center impacts. I did not hit the ZX5s so the feel might be slightly different too.

I played both.  switched to a mixed set of 785 and 585.  found I was hitting the 585 long irons better than my short irons, so went full set.  I think they are pretty similar, but I liked the look at address a little more with the 585 and the turf interaction a little better for me also with the 585.  Still playing the 585 and not looking to change irons this year.  Pretty sure this will be my 3rd season with the 585's

I have 585's (swapped from Callaway Rogue X's) and they're great. Soft feel, good distance (only 2-3 yards shorter than the Rogues that were 2 degrees stronger) and they look great in the bag.

Looks- would come down to personal preference but for me Z585

Distance - Z585 wins

Feel/sound - ie wins

Forgiveness - Z585 wins

 

I also tried the ZX5 and found it to be better feeling than the Z585

I play the z585 in my 5 iron (6-PW) z785 and the 5 iron is like cheating. Long, launches high and very forgiving. They feel great and look really good at address as well!

Hello - You found the z585s longer than the ZX5's?  From the looks I think the z585s are more forgiving, but assumed with the new face adjustments the ZX5s would be longer.

Prefer 565s over 585s.  
 

Better feel
