A graphite shaft with a Modus 120/PX LZ soft-mid bend profile --do they exist?

I like the Modus 120 and PX LZ. No surprise, both shafts have a softer mid section. I've heard people say the LZs seem to load/unleash all the way through the downswing --and I actually know what they mean. I feel it the same way and just had it reconfirmed when trying a head with a LZ 6.5 that by all measures is way too stiff for me, but still felt better than lighter weight, less stiff SFs and Recoils. Go figure. This is why they say get fitted. My questions are: Does anyone know of a graphite shaft that has a bend profile similar to the Modus 120s and LZs? Is this even possible? How much does shaft weight matter in this "loading context?" Thanks... P.S. I continue to obsess over my next set... sorry for all the posts!

***wood shafts***

The RDX Blue is supposed to fit this profile, haven't seen a bunch of reviews yet.  The HZRDUS Smoke Yellow fits this to a degree also.   For older shafts, rhe UST Attas 5 was the best example I had found until recently.

golfshaftreviews.info has ei charts and goes into good detail on this subject for a lot of shafts.

I see now you meant iron shafts, but I'll leave this here anyway if anyone cares.

not sure of the bend profile part, but try looking at the SteelFiber FC (not regular steelfiber). Much more active load than regular SteelFiber's

and agreed with other poster, see if this can get moved to club making. Lots of smart people over there

Modus 120 is not mid-soft, it is in fact quite stiff. The butt/handle is softer, which is closer to the whiteboard (Tensei White) type profiles. PX LZ has a softer midsection which creates the "loading zone" its named for, so this is closer to a blueboard profile. (Tensei Blue.)

You sound like you want something that is a blend of both, call it softer handle, mid/high kick point, stiffer tip.

I'd recommend you check out Graphite Design GP. Or if you like old school stuff, maybe an Oban Devotion.

Not sure I agree with that given EI profile information shows that the Modus 120 is actually MORE of what the PX LZ is:

The softening is shifted a but towards the tip, but otherwise you would still likely call this a "soft mid" shaft.

To answer the OP's question, yes not only are there graphite equivalents but it is also one of the most popular and common shaft profiles out there. Maybe not as extreme as the Modus 120, but the same overall vibe of having a loadable section of the shaft that you can feel in the middle. The thing to pay attention to is the 10 inches between 12" and 22" as that is the soft section that it sounds like you're feeling:

Honorable mentions to the HZRDUS Yellow varieties as well. Also a caveat that steel and graphite shafts are always going to feel very different regardless of profile, so there is no guarantee that a similar composite shaft profile will be right for you, but it feels like a decent bet given your description of what it is you like about the Modus.
