It’s the real deal shaft. It’s on Aldila site but the TX flex isn’t listed which is the typical better materials deal. The TX is still based off the same profile but is slightly firmer according to Aldila

The TX flex is actually a completely different bend profile than the other flexes. Aldila may have just been trying to make things simple but they aren't correct.

The other flexes are similar to the Aldila Tour Blue profile:

The TX is quite similar to the Tour Green or the original rogue silver 125:

It’s not that they were making it simple but them produce the shaft. I know the TX is different as I own a 60&70tx but when I reached out to them I ask about the 80x tipping to to play similar to a TX. I know the EI charts would be different but with the construction adding materials would change things in the shaft but built off the same profile.

Not to derail a thread, but since the question is answered I’d like to ask one as well here.

If there is a shaft you absolutely love, (Aldila Xtorsion Copper 60TX) can you type it in that software and similar bend profiles show up, or do you have to keep digging through the profiles till you see similarities?

Seems like a great way to find shafts for future fittings by eliminating ones that are far different in profile and recommending those that are similar 👍

Could you share their feedback/recommendation?  Have a 70TX driver and considering tipping an 80X for the 3w.

Thank you for your e-mail. With the TX being slightly firmer, the is a
slight material difference. We would suggest a 1/2" to 3/4". We hope
this helps you out.

Best Regards,
Aldila Sales

that was their reply to my question of how much would I tip a 80x to play like a untipped 70tx

I see what you are saying but if you apply that same logic then technically every shaft is built on the same profile since they are rolled around a mandrel with sheets of graphite.

You can't place a pickup truck body on a Honda civic frame and say they will drive the same.

My guess is that Aldila was recommending tipping that may make the CPM similar but the profiles are still completely different and the shafts will react very differently.

I see your point of view also. I’m just trying to create a baseline for the majority just from what Aldila relayed to me when I reached out to them.
