Ping G425 Max, 425 LST, Titleist TSI3

Hoping to start a thread to only focus on these 3 drivers.

Currently gaming a TSI3 and it's an incredible mix of distance and forgiveness so far.

Curious for those who have played two or three, what you feel the main differences are.

I've always loved Ping drivers but to date, I've never found one that is low spin enough for my liking.

From some of the reviews I watched on Youtube it seems the Max and LST spin rates are very very similar. Normally I would only try the LST but I'm thinking the Max might get a test this year.

Would love this to be a thread that includes hard data. Spin rates, launch angles, swing speeds, etc.

I’m interested in these three as well. I’ve had brief sessions with TSi3 and the LST. Currently gaming 410 LST. The 425 from the numbers I saw is a bit faster than the 410, but the TSi has another gear still. The 425 was 3-5mph faster for me over my LST, and the TSi was another 2-3 on top of that. The TSi is the only thing I’ve got over 180. Low to mid 170s for mine, mid to high for the 425.

How did the specs compare? Same shaft, SW, length, etc?

It wasn’t anything formal, but 410 and 425 were exact. Put my Ventus into the 425. TSi wasn’t really setup for me. Hit that with an AV Raw White, which I don’t get along with too well. Once the rest of the new stuff is out and the weather warms up a bit here I’ll go through a more in-depth fitting of them all.

Wow, 5-8mph? That is 3+% increase, which is massive.  What are they doing to get this kind of jump?

Honestly, I’m not sure what it is. It’s significant. The 410 was always a little on the slower side, for me, but it’s just so stable and straight that I was okay giving up a bit. If I can get into a TSi2 or 3 and maintain the speed and stability it’s a no brainer to make the switch.

I had a Ping G400 Max and was fitted last week into the TSi3. My good shots with my ping were 265ish but my misses were balloon shots that went straight up and down...too much spin for my swing.

I went into my fitting thinking the tsi2 was going to be the winner and was shocked at how well I hit the TSi3 when my fitter gave it too me. I was hitting 275 plus on good shots so a little farther. But on my misshits I was getting much better results without the spin getting crazy high.

I did hit the g425 and it felt and performed just like the Max for me.

Hopefully it’ll translate to the course but from multiple sim sessions the forgiveness, while not the same as Ping, it seems to be pretty darn good! Shots closer to the toe and heel were still getting out there, which I didn’t expect at all from the TSi3

Looking forward to hitting all these. Does it seem like a good amount of TSi3 going through the bst? Wondering if launch monitor performance isn’t translating to the course.

It could be just a mismatch or people hoping to catch lightning in a bottle and then being disappointed.  When the lightning ends up being only a tiny flicker that isn't much of an improvement over the current driver, getting most of your money back isn't a bad idea.

I am looking forward to trying a TS3 against a TSi3 and 425 this week.

I’ve noticed a lot of TSi3’s up for sale as well. I have one, coming from a G410 LST. I think the tsi is fast for sure. Sound and feel are worlds better. For me the ping head is noticeably heavier so sw is higher so it’s taking a bit of getting used to but I think once I do I’ll be happy.

Every hot new driver always has a ton for sale on bst because while it may be mildly incrementally better the predecessor it’s not a magic bow and is not going to fix everyone’s issues

I sold my TSi3.  GREAT DRIVER when my swing is on.  However, it is off and on so I sold it.  Just ordered a 425MAX with Ventus Red Hopefully it will arrive by Christmas!

I ordered the 425 max with the stock shaft, the only change I made was getting it at 44 inches..I was told two different times for shipping the 23-26 of January or the 2nd of February.

I hoping it’s the earlier one.

Feb. 4th is the in store launch date. with past releases the oems usually ship pre-orders on that date.  sometimes earlier.

When you start playing the TSi3 regularly please update this thread with a forgiveness comparison against the 410LST. Currently in the 410LST and really liking it but hit TSi3 in the demo bay well too, but only concern is giving up some forgiveness on mishits.

*EDIT sorry OP, now seeing you want this thread to be G425 LST/Max and TSi3 only, my bad 🙂 I'll hopefully have some Max figures to contribute to this thread shortly.

I'm in Australia and have played a full round with each of these using demo clubs. The LST is not for me - too fade biased. The 425 Max performed much better than TSi but the TSi wins hands down on looks, sound and feel. I'm looking for a full fitting to see if the performance gap can be closed but head says it is unlikely.  Will probably end up with a hot melted 425 Max 10.5 Tensie Raw Orange 65 X and save myself some cash

I'm also concerned about the fade bias. Did you try the adjustable weight in the draw position, or add loft?

I don’t like to add loft because a closed face is a big no for me. As for the weight I tend to hit higher toe side and the club just feels weird which the weight in the heel. It’s counter intuitive but I prefer the weight toe side in the Max. Overall I just think the LST is too much for my game - which is a shame because I love the look of it

Good comparison from TXG on TSi3 and 425LST.

Almost identical there. Much better start lines for the TSI but I would assume they could pretty easily dial the Ping in to match that. I believe Matt has been with the TSI3 for a little while now

Either way I will have all 3 drivers as soon as I get my Ping order and we will see which wins!

Tested both available TSi drivers yesterday. Got a high AoA and quite often get my spin too high due to low hits. Center hits at 105 SS was about 2400 spin with 6+ AoA and ball speed around 153 if I remember correctly. Both felt and sounded amazing with good numbers, but went ahead with the 3 mostly due me liking the head shape the best.

I gamed a 410 LST with a Ventus red 6X tipped 1.25” at 45” length. With the ventus it tuned it into a monster. I just sold the head and bought a 425 max. For me the ventus red tipped works amazing with the ping to bring spin down and hoping the 425 max will be just the same but even more forgiving.
