Does anyone use this bag? If so, does the waist strap make a huge difference in alleviating the weight from your shoulders?

This topic interests me, I have looked into it before without much info out there. It seems like you would be able to just toss it on like a regular carry bag for short walks but for longer walks snap the waist strap and alleviate some stress on the shoulders. I don't really want to go to a push cart but would love less stress on my shoulders/back while walking.

 

The concept is sound but does it translate well to golf? I have kept my eye out for anyone using this bag at a course and have never seen 1 in person.

We're Wrxers, all our drives are well over 400 yds so there won't be any short walks. 😂 But in all seriousness, I'm like you, I've searched for LT reviews and can't find anything. Might dump push cart if it really worked as advertised.

I have one and really like it.  It is 5 years old and Held up well. I use it and a 2.5 bag as well.  The zero g does a great job of distributing weight.  I always walk and feel like I have more energy at the end of the round when I use the zero g.  If you don’t like the strap or are playing from a cart, the belt slides out.  I recommend it.

I have an older model sun mountain bag with the waist strap.  Its a game changer for sure to alleviate the weight off your shoulders.  It was enough to encourage my dad to carry his bag walking instead of dealing with a push cart on some hilly courses.

I used to have the 4.5 Zero-G. I ended up giving it to my dad for him to have a stand bag to take to the range.

 

The strap made a difference, but I would not consider it a game changer. 

 

Now using a Mizuno K1-Lo as a walking bag.

I just pulled the trigger. Found a non logo’d 4.5 for pretty cheap that accommodates the belt. Now I feel like I have a choice when walking 18 (or 36) btw cart or carry. My traps get noticeably sore walking more than 18. Looking forward to putting it to the test playing 36 at Sand Valley this summer!

I cannot recommend this bag highly enough. It is a game changer. It is the difference between an old style backpack and a new ultralight pack with a waist belt. 80% of the weight is on your hips and the shoulder straps merely hold the bag in place. My shoulders are no longer sore at the end of the round. 
As mentioned, the strap is removable and the bag can be used as a regular carry bag. You can also leave the waist strap unfastened if you are walking a short distance. I am surprised that this innovation has not taken off.
