Not really looking forward to the new releases....

The best thing about this time of year is all the barely used 2nd hand stuff that comes up for sale, and you can save a ton on clubs that are essentially the same. If you just delay reading websites and reviews for 12 months, you can make golfing at the cutting edge seem affordable.

I only look forward to new releases because it allows me to pick up older stuff cheaper 😀  I've learned that tech has been capped for so many years that everything is only incremental changes and often just horizontal moves and really have no impact on my scoring.

I spent a lot of time over COVID tweaking my bag and worrying about getting the shafts, weights and lengths to the point where I've been really consistent in my play since last summer.   Of course I'll tweak here and there just to scratch the "equipment" bug bit it will always be things a few years old.  So maybe my G30 now becomes the G400 Max (if the prices on that ever come down)🤦‍♂️

Agree with this 100% and is exactly what I did this past summer via local stores and BST. Nike VR Split Cavity —> Mizuno MP-18s, TM R5 —> Mizuno ST190G, SM6s —> Hi Toes all for under $800. I’ve since tinkered with multiple shafts and added a 3W and 5W to drive up the total cost to a little over $1K. Beats paying $1500 for just a set of irons.

I was due for new irons after two years of work/location golf hibernation so I’ve been excited to explore the options.

Have a combo set of ZX5/ZX7 inbound after significant demo time and really looking forward to their arrival.  Not under any illusions that some tech upgrade will transform my game but I love their stock loft progression.  The 27 deg ZX5 6i is about as low as I will go in  loft for a conventional iron and by tweaking the ZX7 7i one degree strong I can then get 5 degree increments to a 46 deg set PW, reduce middle of bag clubs by one, gain some flexibility at either end of bag.

That's a sensible plan. Good luck with them!

I have lots to play with already, so not hugely looking forward to anything.  Picked up the TSi3 head as I got it for a good deal and could just flip if I wanted.  Will be re-shafting a few iron sets to tinker around with (Scratch SB1, Edel, BH PTx/Icons) so good on that front.  Will be re-shafting 2 wedge sets (Edels and Cleveland 588's) and have 4 different shafts to try out between my G410+ and TSi3.

Only thing that I will be picking up is a different 3wd.  Pretty well set on just getting a TS3 head.

That was me this time last year. I felt really good about my bag having just put T100 into play, but my driver (TS3) really fell out of favor over the summer and so I'm really looking forward to trying out all of the new driver offerings. I'm still in search of something that finds fairways as consistently as my 910D2. That thing was an extension of my body.

What shaft did you have in the 910D2?  That driver was the club that made me lose interest in Titleist drivers.

Project X 7C3 played at B2. Absolutely love the look of it at address. Personally, I've never felt as confident with a club in my hands. Heck, it still has the original grip with a wear spot for my left thumb - I'm afraid to regrip it!

I played this setup it from the time it came out until I bought the TS3. To be honest, I'm not sure why I took it out of the bag. I suppose its getting caught up with chasing distance. I've played Titleist drivers for as long as I can remember (prior to the D2 I played the 983E and 975D) but my experience with the TS3 has certainly opened the door for me to try other brands. I will test the TSi for sure, but also look forward to trying out the G425 and Epic Speed.

I thought they already had it for this winter season? Or am I making that up?

I find each year that despite the marketing jargon and internet hype that annnaal equipment updates offer little in terms of performance gains.

I'm not even sure that a current model woods would outperform my trusty old M3.

Just from a cost perspective I completely agree.  When I shop, I do it for a bargain.

Driver - $120 with shaft I wanted

3 wood (being built tonight) - $20

DI - $50

irons 4-lw w upgraded X shafts - $400 total ($300 irons & wedges, $100 shaft upgrades)

bag - $175

Grips - $ 35 (sale)

Total - $800 (putter not included because it was a gift)

I’ll look at all the new stuff, but I won’t add anything.

I did pick up an F9 driver towards the end of last year. But that was because my M1 head cracked. TM replaced it with a SIM head, but it’s still the same shaft (might actually sell both and just try to find another M1 head). Still the older JPX900 irons and old Mack Daddy wedges.

Still love to look, just can’t justify buying anymore.

At this time I'm pretty content with my bag, I'm sure the itch will arise again at some point, but I buy used only club I've bought new was my Cleveland 588 rtx cb. Nowadays manufacturers are making less clubs it seems so it's harder to find clubs like that.

I'm pretty set on my bag for the next 9 or 10 years. All I am waiting for is the price of the Big Bertha B21 driver to come down and I am all set.

Bought the B21 when it came out in October. I LOVE it. Best driver I’ve ever owned. Before the B21 I gamed a bunch of drivers over the last couple years. Bagged M1, M3, M6, Speedzone, G400SFT and Epic Flash SZ. The only one close was the Flash. Not nearly as forgiving, though. The longest drives of the B21 may not be as far as the longest of the Flash, but it’s incredibly easy to hit. Just splits fairways consistently. I bet you’ll love it👍

Now that the curtain has been pulled back on all the new equipment releases...my interests are as follows:

Irons: Standard Apex & Apex DCB combo for long irons.

Fairways: Really liking the Cobra RAD in the blue colorway. Also interested in the PXG 0211's. Disappointed in the non adjustable Callaways.

Hybrids: Cobra RAD hybrids & Apex hybrids. Still waiting on the Titleist Tsi hybrids. I think they are updating their loft selection to include a 24 degree option.

Drivers: This is a tough one. In order of interest. Cobra RAD again with the blue colorway. Ping G425 Max. Callaway Epic Speed Max. PXG 0211. I like the TSi3 but not sure if it would be suited for me. The TM SIM2's will probably be an end of summer ebay purchase as well as the Srixon ZX5.

Putter & Wedges: No interest. Staying put with what I have.

Driver: Callaway Rogue STMaxLS 10.5 Degree

5 Wood: Cobra LTDxLS @ 17.5 Degree

Hybrid: Cobra King OS 3-4 Hybrid @ 20.5 Degree

Hybrid: Cobra Aerojet @ 24 Degree

Irons: Taylormade 2021 P790's 5-AW

Wedge: Taylormade MG3 54 Degree

Wedge: Callaway Sureout 2 @ 60 degree

Putter: PXG Closer
