Ping 2021 putters...

Like the sigma 2, I sense this will be another tanker for Ping. Come on Ping! Everything else you make is cutting edge, aesthetically pleasing, and engineered to the max. Why do your putters look like Walmart clones of Cleveland’s $80 putters. Putters should be your flagship, yet they continually look like afterthoughts. Either rely on your heritage and pump out high-end remakes of your classics, ala Cameron, or go for innovation, and hire a design consultant so you can actually compete with TM and Odyssey.

Still better than the Hepplers. Those things look like plop.

Which Ping professionals play their Sigma or Heppler?

Hovland plays a PLD. I’m pretty sure Bubba’s is one off.

I think Westwood and Brooke Henderson play Sigma?

Not sure about Louis.

Westwood has been playing a Fetch.  Louis is all over the place - think I have seen him with Vault Voss but mostly PLD I think.

Hinako Shibuno (my favourite golfer!) won the Women's British Open with a Sigma 2 Anser.

It looks like they went away from the face tech they used in prior sigma and vault releases as well. Unless it is just not showing up in the pictures.

Ping's curvilinear True Roll Technology (TR) has been ditched for this line. Basically either an admission that it was just marketing BS or they actually chose to remove good tech. Maybe they did it because people complained about the excessive softness or maybe they did it to lower manufacturing costs. Hard to give a definitive anser.

According to Ping's website, Sebastian Munoz is the only PGA pro playing a Sigma putter (Sigma 2 Valor). Everyone else on the PGA Tour plays a Vault, PLD, or older retail model putter (Scottsdale, Scottsdale TR, etc.).

There are several LPGA pros playing Sigma/Sigma 2 putters and two playing Hepplers.

I don't think the lack of pros playing the cast/lower end retail putters should be a surprise or an indictment of Ping's retail putters. It's definitely a deviation from the old Ping model of the pros playing the same putters as the average Joe, which is kind of a bummer.

I saw Westwood win Europe with a S2 Fetch. Last time I saw Henderson, S2 Fetch.

I'll hold out hope forever that Ping will release a PLD line at some point! Please PING!!!

They will never release a PLD line. Vault is the "commercial" version of those high ends. PLD is literally custom… PLD isn't something you buy off the shelf.

Why is it so hard to find the different models of ping putters coming out. I have looked all over the place and seen nothing. I see one blade one mallet. Is their a Tyne style?

Their japanese web site is probably your best bet. Here you go

Nice to see that the PLD 3 is coming back in the form of the CA 70

On the Ping Japan page you can find the whole putter line. The new HARWOOD putter is very heavy (385 grams) and probably also much more expensive. The revised PING PP 60 grip is now completely black, which I like. The "new" fetch seems to be interesting.  The rest is very sobering for me.

Interesting to see some setups I really like in there, too bad these are another insert/sigma line though. 😞

Love Anser 4s though to get a cleaner look at the ball and the Kushin 4 is an interesting one as well, wonder how much toe hang that one will have.

The good: love to see an Anser 4 being offered, and that Kushin 4 may be the best of the bunch. Kind of reminds me of the Wilson Infinite Michigan Ave, which had a lot of toe hang.

The bad: Hoo boy are those ugly. I say this as someone who really liked the look the of Heppler line and won't part with my ZB3. Maybe they look better in person, but those look really cheap. The good news is that from the top, they look like any black putter.

I have actually hit a few putts with the DS72 and the insert feels quite nice. A bit firmer than the Sigmas imo. And I´m guessing that the Kushin will have the most toe hang in the series. I don´t speak a word of japanese but in the videos just looking at them that was what I thought me seeing haha

Will be interesting to try all of them once they are out

That’s weird since they just released the PLD Tyne that wasn’t “literally custom”

You mean the 1000 run of tynes that marketing is trying out?

PLD is a custom program with very limited access. I get the reasons why it is so limited (cost, personalisation).  I liked the Prime Tyne 4 release, which I own, and I hope they do more along those lines (when I previously bought a PLD3, it was 2 or 3 degrees flat for no apparent reason so I had to sell it on).

What I don't get is why Ping doesn't release a few models in the various pared-down, simple carbon steel heads with light or no milling, as per the PLD templates, for anyone to buy at a premium cost. These are super-classy putters.  They should be offered as a high-end line to replace the Vaults.

The finish on this new range looks extremely cheap (see also: Sigma 2) and to be honest, the gap between it and the sleek PLD visuals is laughable.

I am a huge Ping fan , but these putters look so cheap. If these putters did not have PING written on them most of us would pass them off as part of a box set. I have a PXG  proto driver, and looking at these very happy I also ordered a putter with them, and with the lack of new irons from Ping, the 0211 irons look like they may find a way into the bag.

^^^^This right here^^^^

I used a Sigma Tyne 2 for a little bit, really loved the way it set up but just was not a fan of the insert. Have wanted for so long for them to come out with either a PLD version of the Tyne 2 or something similar, just like what Cameron Champ use to use. They were close with the Prime Tyne 4, but I would love that head in a double bend shaft option.
