To each their own.

A Fetch with a Ketsch top is a winner for me.

Yeah not a fan. The are copying Cleveland frontline tech (yes others have done it too).

Ping just needs to actually release a putter worth a damn.. You know.. Like a PLD line that is not limited..

It's interesting that Ping lists the PP58 mid grip as weighing 87 grams. Their usual PP58 mid grip was more around 75 grams and the corded version of that about 87 grams (I just weighed a spare cord version and it was 87 grams). I wonder what's changed.

Just tried a few out for fun, now that they're out. That Tyne doesn't look much different from the PLD version, even though everyone in this thread will clearly know the difference.

They won't be for everyone; no putter line is. But the grips being all rubber, and changing to a default make 'em all 35 unless you ask is a bit of a shock… stock indeed. Despite the tut-tuts in here, they'll resonate with most, and sell well. They look sharp in person IMO.

Very few straight models

The ones they have look like garden tools

Was looking to upgrade but every wide blade model is for strong or slight arcs

Of course if they are as soft as the Sigma 2 line it wouldn't matter

How about a Vault 3.0?

Surely someone at PING's putting department knows that sight lines don't work for everyone.  Agreed that none of the releases the past few years have appeared to be high quality.

You can order it with a custom sight line from the wrx dept. Or you can just take some paint thinner and remove the sight line on the flange. It is what I do, I prefer my sight line on the topline of the face. i just remove the paint in the flange and I really never notice it after that.

How did the insert feel? Was it rubbery or similar to a White Hot?

I had Jim Wells at Ping build me several putters with tungsten heel and toe weights in the face 20 years ago... it's not new tech to do that.

Sure, everything is cyclical. There were hollow body irons with tungsten in them 20 years ago too but they are currently very popular. It was just an observation, and Cleveland is the most recent to first do it.. lol.

I think these new putters are Hohum.  Ping should Zing some more money into R & D to develop a real, PLeasing D*mn line of putters.  That’s the Anser to all their problems.

It would make My Day if they did. It is CrazE that they can't be a Pal and have a better line...

Ping has def dropped the ball with their putter lines the last few years. they need to expand the category and include different feels and their traditional models and looks. I mean they really could just brings out the old stainless and brass putters with  either grooves on the face, or soft inserts and price them reasonably. Price them at $150 and I think they would sell very well. i think they have just lost their space in putters.

I agree. they have lost space kinda everywhere over the past year. Not just in the putter room.

One area where I’m really disappointed with Ping is their wedges.  Ping wedges were the absolute best.  Different grinds and shapes and just way out there in front of everyone else. Now they’ve been past by seemingly everyone.

If I was president for a day at Ping, I’d fire up the castings and remake the Eye2/Eye2+/Zing2 SW and LW grinds again with legal grooves.  And no, they haven’t already done that. When they did they screwed it up so bad, did a lame dark gray finish on them and didn’t give the people what they want.  We want 431 cast SW’s and LW’s in the EXACT finish as the Eye2 irons of old, with legal grooves.  Is that so hard? Why Ping? Why??? The best LW in the game is the old Ping Eye2+ 58* Bring it back!!

I’m the biggest Ping fan around. Ping did almost exactly what you asked for 3 years ago. The Glide Stealth 2.0 ES grind was 431, same sole grind as the Eye 2, similar hi toe design and face profile, the TS grind is almost idetical to the Eye 2 +, only thing was the finish was black. If those wedges were a raw finish, my hunt for the perfect wedge would finally be over. I’ve played Ping wedges from the Eye 2 all the way through the Tour S. In fact still have the Tour S Rustique wedges.

I can compare it to Sigma2… just a little more firm on anything over ~14'. I imagine that's when I got to the back part of the insert. It was harder to tell with the 35s they had, because I'm putting 32.9", so holding down the shaft.

I personally still find the shafts a little weak, but that has to be because I'm used to by BGT which is stiff af.

They have certainly had supply issues due to Covid, but on tour, they've never been more popular. Not their putters, but irons and drivers are as popular, if not more popular, than any other brand.

WHo outside of Ping players is playing them? I know Billy Ho has the blueprints in play. Sergio had them for a bit but switched to p750s. I know the driver has been into and out of a few bags.

They led the driver count at the Masters. Must have had some non staffers playing it.

Where did you get that? I had not heard it. They had a good number of staff players at the masters and with the limited field size I would not be too surprised. Just curious who.. The G425 is a step backwards in my opinion from the previous two models.
