My shop is telling me it will be a 4-6 week lead time if I order now. Crazy how long Ping's wait time is with their clubs right now.  Or I could go to Dick's and buy off the shelf, no thanks.

Unfortunately, it's the current world we live in. Not to mention the demand for golf clubs flooding in from everywhere. Ordered furniture lately? Crazy times.

Anser 4 looks really sweet. May have to give my #1 a "time out" - just because.

Every time I walk into Golf Headquarters, I roll the Kushin 4 and Tyne 4.  Quite enjoy the feel of the insert.  And always a fan of the all black.  I could definitely see one of these making a run at the bag.

Has anybody ordered a customized 2021 Ping Putter? If so, any idea what the stock swing weight is for all builds? I hear it's D2/D3?

I ordered it adjustable so I am guessing I'll end up somewhere between C6 and E8.

There's no stock swing weight, the head is the same weight regardless of length. Unless you can somehow talk them into adjusting the weighting for you. Seems highly unlikely with the 2021 line.

I don't believe that's true. There are 3 stock head weights (335g, 350, 365g) in the Ping 2021 portfolio of putters. Plus I can't imagine they will produce a C6/E8 putter.

Maybe we're looking at something different. I'm looking at the 2021 line and I see head weights ranging from 350-385. It depends on the model.

https://ping.com/en-us/clubs/putters/ping-2021

And I'm pretty sure if you order, for example, the 385-gram Harwood at 36" length it's going to be E8 or even more. If you order the 350-gram Anser at 32.5" it's probably going to be C6.

You are correct. I was speaking specifically about the Anser 4 (which I didn't reference). I'd like to think that Ping wouldn't push out a C6, but these days, anything is possible.

It is if it's adjustable, it'll do exactly that.

Do you think they have different heads depending on what half inch length you order? Of course not. You get what you get based on the length unless it's a custom job, and even then, there are limits.

My plan is to do a work around based provided specs from Ping and PGASS.

(Allegedly) 34" Anser with stock PP58 (55g) Ping grip and 350g head yields D2.

My grip of choice is 69 gram SS Pistol GT Tour. So to get D5 at 34", I'll order "Heavy Head" (365g= +7 SW) with PP58 (Stock) Pistol Midsize (55g= -3 to move to 69g GT Tour) which should take me close to the promise land. We shall see!  (MMMV)

I would double check the SW decrease on the grip end....I read somewhere where it's around 9 grams for 1sw on that end...could be wrong though

Ask in the tech forum, but I think it is closer to 9 grams for a putter because it's a shorter club. It also matters if it's right on top, like a superstroke drop-in weight.

Sounds like you have it under control.

Another option is you can get something off the shelf, and send it to Breakthrough. They'll put one of their shafts in, but they'll also make it precisely to your request. That may not be as easy when ordering it due to the restrictions they have on what they can use.

I am a 'strong arc' putter. Rolled the Anser 4 yesterday and really liked it. Would love to try the Kushin and Tyne for comparison. The supply here in Canada is not good!! Was told 10-12 weeks for custom!?

Really like the 2021 series. Insert feels great and it rolls fantastic. Bought the stock Anser 4 and having it customized by my local guy.

What does PING do different for a model that has “straight” and “slight” arc as options?

my current Ketsch is a “straight” model but I noticed the only Harwoods Golf galaxy had today were “slights” but the PING website mentions it comes In a “straight” model as well.   Do they put less weight in the toe for slight? Anyone know?

They just trim the shaft differently. It's a single bend shaft. The "slight arc" option has the tip trimmed more. Or at least that's the idea, I have noticed sometimes the "slight arc" putters are just as face-balanced as the "straight" ones.

Thanks.  I wondered what I was missing between what picked up with a slight va a straight.    Hopefully not much.

Ping 2021 putter lie specs notes 20 degrees (+/- 4). How does that translate to other brands, Scotty for instance, that notes 70 degrees as stock standard?

The weighting of the heads are not changed because it would require very drastic movements of the head CG to accomplish this.

On "Straight" arc the shaft would be bend such that the shaft axis intersect the CG of the putter head in the face-on plane.

On "Slight" arc the shaft is bent at a lower point to ensure the shaft axis is "inside" of the putter CG towards the heel.

PING bends all their putter shafts in assembly, they are not pre-bent from the shaft suppliers.
