Patrick Reed and Grindworks iron

How did he get in contact with the company? Did they approach him, was it his own search or did someone recommend them?

I think I am probably one of the first few sets in the USA. They can do any shaft/grip option. Grindworks USA is based near Spring, TX so I think Reed likely has a stake in the company as well.

 

Kenji Kobayashi who is one of the leaders of GW was the head of ENDO MFG/Forging for 10 years along with being one of the founders of Epon. From the Golf.com article Patrick contacted GW and they worked on desiging his MB set for over a year as they were surpirised that he knew who GW was.

 

I couldn't be happier with the look and feel so far. Leading edge relief reminds me of Miura and feel reminds me of Epon. Being 1 piece forged (at I'm assuming ENDO with their past connections) S20C with a little modern tech of CNC makes for a great players cb look.

 

I am curious as to what role the CNC milling of the back played in the design of the PR202s?

What did grindworks do for you to for you in terms of club build or design to play them that other OEMs could not or would not?

1.  Between desired performance, look, and feel, which was easiest to achieve and which was hardest?  In the end game, did tweaking one knock either of the others out of his personal tolerance?

 

2.  Which performance parameter was most difficult to nail down: launch/spin or turf interaction?

A lot of testing probably went into sand interaction too.
