I never liked pro white

although I do like stiff handles

any chance of me liking this?

I think the 1K would still be not to your liking. The handle is still soft and the new graphite material cloth makes it feel softer than Pro White.

I hit it 1K vs. Ventus Black on the range yesterday with limited launch monitor numbers from a Rapsodo (No Spin). The 1K has a very smooth feel with a good feeling of the shaft loading and then unloading at impact. Lively, but very tight and controlled even if you "went after it". Easier to turn over than Ventus Black and the shot shape was more of a gentle draw where V.Black is straight to slight right of target. Ventus Black launched lower and had an overall more stout feel to it. Ballspeed was a little higher with the 1K for me, around 155 while the V. Black was around 153. Ventus Black also launched a little lower, by about half a degree . Now these were some rough range balls and it was 20*, while using the Srixon ZX5 head.

Agreed, really wanting to see how this stacks up against the ventus black.

Ye I'm throwing around so many options with this shaft I'm totally undecided🙈. Have you any experience with ventus black? would love to hear how they compare.

Did you miss Knudson's post or do you have additional questions about how the Ventus Black stacks up against the 1k?

I've played both and think Knudson was 100% spot on.  The 1k 60TX feels smoother / softer / better and seems to launch a little higher than the VB 6X for me.  That said, it's also playing .75" or so longer at the moment, and my experience is with the 1k in a TSi3 versus the VB in a Mavrik TD.

Not apples to apples, but the 1k has reduced any desire I had to go back to the Ventus Black.  That said, it's been cold and windy, and I've been considering getting a Ventus Blue or Graphite Design - something a little softer for winter (in CA where that means 45 - 50 degrees 😄  )

Can anyone tell me the differences between this 1k shaft and the AV Raw Prototype 2.0?

From what I recall, bend profiles are similar but the primary difference is materials used in each shaft.

This done it for me, bought my 60TX 1K after reading your thoughts. Might do the same and pick up a ventus black later in the year when it gets a bit firmer here in Ireland (were not blessed with nice weather like CA😄) but really excited about the 1K.

Update: Played my first round with the 1k 50TX and had one of my best driving days (see arccos data). If I could hit a wedge and putt would have been nice..... All in, loving the new setup and this shaft is firmly in the bag.

FWIW I was playing the new 2021 prov1x and it was fantastic off the tee. Compared to my session at the range (using range balls) I was getting a much more powerful penetrating flight.

...curious about your driver swingspeed and getting fit into 50tx, how did you land on this flex? What was your previous driver shaft/setup?

As mentioned in earlier post on this thread, had best success with Pro White 70tx in the driver. Swing speed generally between 115-120mph with driver.

I’ve tried many different driver shafts over the years (love to tinker) in the 65-75g x-stiff category but never a lightweight shaft so that’s what drew me to the 1k 50Tx. Also have traditionally played driver at 45” and wanted to try a longer 46” build hence thought the 50tx would suit.

I haven’t had the swingweight checked yet but will do this weekend.

I dropped from TPW 60S to TPW 50S with great results. So much easier to swing within myself yet aggressively and the shaft loads and unloads beautifully.

With a SS of 115-120, I'm surprised avg distance is 275 with long of 305 yards, unless there was zero bounce. Is that carry or overall distance, even if it is just carry that seems very low? With a SS that high, I feel you may be giving up some distance with a shaft that light.

Sorry - didn't notice that you'd actually converted.

If you use the Flightscope optimizer:

115mph * 1.48 smash = ~170 mph ball speed > 14 deg launch / 2400 spin / 100 ft above sea level = 285 yard carry.  Winter conditions may fly less.  Where I play - you get ZERO roll.

Take into account that Arccos averages are pure averages - meaning they include all drives - even the ones that hit a tree and go 200 (which is one of my biggest gripes with the system).

Seems just fine to me.

That’s on course data. Course isn’t flat, was quite wet (was clean and place that day), and was quite windy with the wind hurting on most driving holes.

still haven’t had a chance to get in the sim with it.

Also, checked swingweight and it’s nicely in the D6-7 range which is great for me.

for reference on just driver distance see arccos driver data attached.

Any reviews of this in a fairway wood. I used to playa pro white 70 stiff in a m2 tour 4 wood I loved but stupidly sold it. Then played an av blue 65x in 13.5 ts2 last year but would get hooky on me. Now thinking about this shaft in new epic speed 4 wood. Curious if this is softer then original pro white or stiffer.  I really like they offer this in an x in addition to tx as that’s too much shaft for me.

TXG Review is up.  Their findings are similar to what's been posted in this thread.  Somewhere between a Ventus Black and Blue.  Best of both worlds for me - stable low / low with better feel.  Kinda reminds me of the TZ5.
