So no more SZ in the woods? But you can make either model low spin by putting a heavier weight up front? Or is there no 'standard' now and just a SZ and a max?

I understand looks are subjective and clubs always grow on me. However, there is not a single appealing thing about these.

What is it that is unappealing?   The color? The way it sits?   Or have you hit them?  Not being sarcastic, just seriously curious.

I hear ya, I don't like judging something before hitting it.

Shape from address, face shape, no adjustability, no full face scoring lines, lack of a true SZ option.

Where's the adjustability??  I thought Epic was the premium, fully adjustable line while Mavrik/Rogue/etc. was the bonded line (except for driver).  Disappointing.

It’s bonded so they’ll have a good reason for why the next generation is so much better.

That's why I had high hopes for this line after the Mavrik. It performs great(the Mavrik) but bonded is an immediate deal breaker.

So you won’t play it because it’s not adjustable even though it performs great?

Yep, looks good, feel great, and goes a mile. But it goes left. If I can't lower loft a degree and get the face open(and freely switch shafts) then it's not playable.

Without the adjustable hosel I feel as though these are a step backwards. Kind of let down with that aspect. I like the looks of the Epic Flash fairways much more. Was looking to update my only fairway wood I carry & as of now based purely on looks I'm leaning towards the Cobra RAD with the blue colorway. At least that's the first one I'll try.

Driver: Cobra SZ Extreme @ 11.5 Degrees

5 Wood: Cobra F8 @ 17 Degrees

Wedge: Callaway Sureout 2 @ 60 degrees

Putter: PXG Closer

I like the adjustable adapter too however I’m not married to having to have it on my 3 wood. I think Callaway has done away with it because of the weight savings benefits are put directly into the clubhead.

This is how I feel. Ive played every Callaway adjustable fairway since the razr fit extreme and I was so excited for them to basically turn mavrik into an adjustable

I find this product release weird. Based on Callaway website both of the models are draw biased and without no adjustability in shaft adapter (since they are bonded) the new Epic series is made for faders/slicers only. I guess myself looking for an open, neutral/fade biased fairway need to look elsewhere for my 2021 fairway. Love Cally fairways but this year you have me confused.

If you look at the description of flight tendencies on their website, the only options are draw and slight draw. Not good for those of us that prefer a neutral to fade bias … I guess they are assuming you’ll go back to the Maverik subzero Fairway if that is your preference?

Hit the LS version of the driver this weekend and loved it.

Has anyone actually hit these yet? Can you give us a report?

Hit the Speed 3W today, couldn’t do anything with it. My crappy swing and boots didn’t help. I wanted to hit the Max but only demo they had was lefty. I sat the Max down on the floor and that thing looks like it could pick the ball off of a sheet of glass. Because the Max is so shallow it didn’t appear that the head was super large either even though it is bigger than the Speed.

Are there any good comparision videos between Mavrik Sub Zero and Epic Speed fairways?

Anyone tried both and can comment on flight bias and launch comparision?

Any further reviews on the Epic Speed fairway?  I'm currently torn between the Epic Speed, Cobra Radspeed Big Tour, and Cobra Radspeed.  The Epic Speed and Big Tour are the leaders for me in the clubhouse.  I typically worry about forward CG in my fairway wood, but the Epic Speed seems to have some very nice built-in forgiveness.

I’m looking at the same contenders, plus the RadSpeed standard head. The Epic Speed 3 wood sounded and flew great for me. So did the 5. I did not notice a thing with the weight, but I have been playing an OG Epic SubZero 5 wood. I have plenty of spin so trimming it only gives me more distance. I did not care for the Mavrik fairways. I liked the Epic originals and I like both new Epics.

I want to give them all a run. The Big Tour looks really good — the profile may be the most promising off the tee. Epic Speed to me looks like it could be best combo of solid off tee and easy off turf. I use 3 wood pretty regularly off the tee on 360 yard or so par 4s. I predict I end up with a Callaway and a Cobra. I have looked over the Cobras and plan to hit them this weekend, but I game an F9 and I have no doubt I’ll like a RadSpeed, it’s a matter of which one. I am sticking with a Callaway B21 driver I’ve tweaked and really like, so I could see RadSpeed Big Tour 3, Epic Speed 5 and standard RadSpeed 7 wood. (No hybrids - 7 wood to 5 iron.) But depends on how I hit them. Cobra 7 woods are hard to beat. Can easily dial in carry distance.
