 No mistakes allowed, just the way it is.  Companies are fighting for relevance and money, they can’t let mistakes get in the way.  It’s the only decision they could have made, cut ties.

 

I think he is sorry, he knows what he did and what it means, and I am sure he will own the consequences.

The more money you make a co, the bigger figure head you are, the more people that follow you etc, the harder it is to drop you. 

 

Example, Piercy (whom I like) dropped real quick by Titleist. Now, you're gonna see Titleist drop JT.

I was actually surprised it took this long for one of his sponsors to make a move.....was watching Golf Channel when the news broke....and of course Chamblee was there to chime in with his usual pearls of wisdom. 

 

My guess is RL won’t be the last....

I don’t think Titleist will drop him, I think the golf world is much more likely to quickly move past this than is the fashion world. As someone pointed out earlier. 
 

But I was wrong about RL dropping him. Didn’t think they would.

His mistake was the heat of the moment and wrong.  He would take it back 1000 times if he could.  Their judgement of the mistake was thought out and calculated.  No more Ralph purchases for me.  
 

However, many companies may be realizing that clothing endorsements do little to move the needle for sales and are looking for any reason to cut expenses in this environment.

They were a good mutual fit. Justin can't be mad at Ralph Lauren. You can't say what he said when you  represent a large fashion house and the diversity that comes with that.
