GI or SGI irons with relatively traditional lofts?

I know there's a lot of "loft-jacking" going on with irons nowadays, and I also know that if the COG is lower, then the launch angle can stay the same with a lower lofted iron.
However, I'm a bit OCD about my iron/wedge setup, and want my GI irons to have a matching G iron at 50* then go to my 55* and 59* specialty wedges.

the only set that I've found that even remotely matches what I'm looking for is the original PXG 0211's. are there any other sets like this out there? being the "club hoe" I've got that itch even though my 0211's have been good to me.🙄

Take a look at the Mavrik MAX irons. Rated as SGI but has higher lofts than standard Mavriks.

MAX 7i =30* / std Mav 7i = 27*

 

In GI, Ping G410 might be of interest: 9i = 39.5*, PW = 44.5*, AW = 49.5*

 

G710 would be possible with Retro lofts

Srixon z585 / Zx5 have pretty standard lofts comparatively and are very forgiving for how good they look.

Ping g410/g425 can be bought in retro lofts so that should satisfy your requirements

Ping i210 could fit the requirements, as well.  Retro lofts, or even standard lofts, going 45/50 in PW/GW.  The MOI on them is fairly robust, if you like forgiveness.  The only knock on them would be the CG, which is a little high at .913".  (the i200 is a bit lower, but still highish)

 

The iBlade is more forgiving than you might think from the name, and could fit the bill as well.  It has a bit lower CG than the i210, but still on the high side.

Do you know this for sure? The Ping G425 does not list retro as available on the site currently

I was just looking at the PING site and noticed that Retro Spec is not available on either the 410 or 425.  It's weird that you can get the 710s with Retro lofts but not those two models...

These days it's either Ping in retro lofts or and older set of used GI or SGI irons made in the 2000s or earlier.

My Rocketbladez set from 2013 has the AW at 50*. You don't have to go that far back.

Absolutely, talked to ping customer service on the phone about it. They didn’t offer g410 in retro initially but it’s now an option with both g410 and g425.

Specifics on G425 line were hard to track down at first. I found this G425 iron tableau that listed Retro lofts. (My apologies, but I can't find the source link for this. I had copied the tableaus into PowerPoint, but failed to include the URL.)

Same as the 28* loft.  But it's interesting that almost no one who says that looks at anything other than stronger lofted sets.  😉

Thanks for the input, I've been hemming and hawing at a few different things, and decided to wait for #ReleaseSZN to be over before I make any sudden moves. I already made that mistake in trying a Thump hybrid shaft, and ended up hating it. MMT all the way.

speaking of which, does anybody have a list of irons in the Big 5 and company that have Taper/parallel hosels? I get the feeling that PXG is one of the few that offers parallel irons.
