If I were the OP, I'd have found several helpful comments. I'd have seen some hard truth being put out there. Most of all, I'd wonder what I did to so many of these people to get the d*ckish replies. So much of social media has gone toxic. This site has seemed to avoid that, but the topic of this thread really doesn't justify the tone it has taken on.

😬 OP has 1 post dropping vague info of failures, a couple fixed no charge and now has discovered same issue on other clubs, one of which was fixed by the oem already. Seven year old clubs.

The failures as described could definitely be caused by user habits.

Or they could be an indication there are inherent problems with that model of shaft. The OEM historically has exceptional customer service backing their products.

Posters asked legit questions. I don't see them as cynical. I'm quite sure a pro shop or a rep might ask same.

No further info from OP.

So it's basically a turd in the punch bowl at this point.

You know what, I went back through and you're right. It's really only one or two people. I guess that's to be expected.

If anybody has ever gotten any real benefit from graphite shafts I’d be more surprised.

The hard truth is not about warranties but about paying for useless “tech” and materials.

There are countless threads where people have stated that graphite has alleviated elbow pain.

And graphite allows for lightweight shafts but with the stiffness of a steel shaft that is 20 to 30 grams heavier. So there are more chances for people to find a shaft that matches with their overall strength and swing speed.

Graphite is not a useless tech or material. Is your driver shaft made of graphite or steel?

Signs up to complain about how poorly Ping customer service is and their product on a 7 year old equipment. You get the responses accordingly.

Wait til all those hollow irons start breaking...just out of warranty of course.

The arthritis in my hands has found graphite shafts extremely beneficial compared to the DGX100.  I call that a real benefit.  Your mileage may vary.

Bryson and Ancer play graphite on tour and they will only out the best in play. And when was the last time you’ve seen a steel driver or fairway shaft on tour?

 Get with the times.

Switched to a set of MMT’s and no elbow pain. My elbow thanks me every time when they aren’t sore and in pain.

There is so much wrong with this that it's too hard to even know where to start.

I wonder if anyone else has had a similar experience

I purchased a complete set of Ping G30s (5-9, PW, GW, SW, LW + 3, 4 Hybrid, Driver, 3W, 5W-5 years ago. I am writing this review here because I was unable to find another suitable place on this site to comment in regard to Ping's reputation to stand behind its products.
I was fitted for a TFC419 stiff shaft. I was entirely satisfied with the complete set until 2 years ago. After hitting a shot off the fairway the clubhead of my 8 iron completely separated from the shaft and flew into the rough. I retrieved the head and my local golf shop sent the club and shaft to Ping and they completely refurbished the club, no charge.
This summer, I hit a 9 iron that didn't feel right and I noticed that it too was about to break off at the hosel. Same thing with the 8 iron (yes again). My local golf shop again sent these back to Ping. This time I was charged a considerable, yet fair price for a new shaft.
Since receiving the 8 and 9, I have noticed cracks in the shaft of my LW and 6 iron in the same place. I have not had any problems with my hybrids or woods which have a different shaft.

I contacted Ping and the rep indicated that there was nothing he could do since the clubs were out of warranty. Sorry, but I don't accept this. I am convinced that 5 different instances represents a defect. Meanwhile I am in a quandary regarding what I should do to insure I have a reliable iron set.

When did you purchase the set? You didnt mention that. I mean, the G30's launched in 2014 thats 6, almost 7 years ago. So two years ago would make the set 4 almost 5 years old and they fixed them which makes sense. Then a year later, so thats 5 or 6 years after launch at this point, and you were charged which to me makes sense. You cant expect OEMs to warranty things beyond a couple of years and PING usually goes beyond that which to me they did.

Who built the clubs? and what was the purchase date?

First of all, I apologize for not being able to easily use the site. This is my first post and clumsily posted twice.I am still trying to determine how to respond quickly to either individual posts or in general.Wow was I surprised how many responses I received.

Hopefully this will address many of the comments. I have been playing golf for 50 years and have never had a shaft problem. I think 5 broken shafts is unusual. I purchased the clubs new 5 1/2 years ago and have been playing with them ever since. I am retired and play or practice about three times each week.

I broke my first shaft after I had the clubs two years. Ping replaced the shaft no questions asked no charge.

My eight iron and nine iron broke this summer. Ping charged me to replace both shafts. My lob wedge and six iron currently have cracks in them but I still use them. I haven’t noticed a decrease in performance.

I’d like to think that I am a pretty average golfer. I try to hit down on the ball but the Divots are not violent or huge. My average clubhead speed with my driver is 104 mph and that is not going to scare any of the big hitters down here in Sarasota Florida during the winter or up in Buffalo New York in the summer. My clubs pretty much live in my SUV, They are not stored in a humidity controled locker room. Club heads are cleaned with a wet rag either by the cart guy at the end of the round or by me.

Please bear with me while I become more familiar with the site.

My apologies if that post I wrote sounded rude, I was just looking for a little more info as there is a lot of help to be had here in this community.  Not all posts are coming from the right place but I know many of us would love to help if we can.  Seeing the above post about the G25 irons being fixed is promising but a lot of times it comes down to getting them in the right hands, someone who has an in with Ping.

Being original owner isn't something Ping cares that much about.  I sent a G400 in as the face ended up having 3 cracks in it.  Never asked for receipt or anything else, they stand behind they product.  Stored, has nothing to do with shafts cracking near the hosel.

My only guess is as I said before, batch issue on the shafts, or a heavier digger in clay soil or off mats a ton to possibly have that many failures.

Thanks. Please see my response to circaflex

This is the only thing I see that could cause this problem. The moisture and charges of temperature might cause the shaft to expand and contact and then crack.
