Wedge shafts

Looking at putting the milled grind 2 TW wedges in the bag this year. I don't get on very well with dynamic gold shafts since changing my iron shafts from px 6.0 to modus 105 x. 

 

I am OK with the kbs hi rev 115 in the hi toe that I am using but I mistakenly got the 50 in a hi rev 120 and haven't got on with that for some reason so I have swapped that with a modus shaft to match my irons. 

 

Of the custom options available on most of the sites I have been looking at the closest to my shafts are modus 105 in stiff or modus 120 in stiff or x flex. Nowhere seems to do them with modus 105 in x flex. 

 

Would I be best to go with 105 in s flex or is the 120 close to the 105 in feel? I have never swung a club with modus 120 so don't know if I get on with that shaft. 

 

I was hoping to find something that worked without having to pull a shaft out of a new wedge to fit a 105 x in it if I can avoid it.

My 2 cents...  Depends on how you use your 50*  ...recommend matching your 50 w/the same shaft in your irons. I like the Hi Rev 115 as well; both wedges with the same shaft will promote the same feel and consistency.

I have a wedge matrix with yardages for full 3/4 and 1/2 swings for my 50/54/58 wedges but found i was getting to many shots on course that were coming out like a flier with the 50 on partial swings so looking at dropping the partial shots with 50 and just using it as a full swing club only. I have already put a modus 105 x in it to match my irons. 

 

I am looking at the TW wedges being full swing with the 56, then 3/4 and 1/2 with both the 56 and 60. Dont see the point in hitting 60 full out but thats another discussion all together. 

 

I am wondering if putting 105 s in these clubs is a good idea as they won't be full out swings with them or if the heavier 120 x is the way to go. Or if I should just buy them with the mindset that I will just buy a couple of 105 x shafts and reshaft them.

put 105x in 50. 105s in the other 2 or modus 115 in the 56,60

I would try Modus 125 in stiff 37” shaft or x 38” shaft. The 125 is the same profile as the 105 but stiffer across the board. For me one flex down plays perfect. 

 

if you do 105 stiff in your wedges they will feel significantly lighter than your irons. They are 5 grams lighter than the x to start, plus the bbgm of your wedge is going to be higher so the raw shaft length will be shorter and you will lose another 3 grams or so for the extra cut. For me 8-10 grams lighter in my wedges would not be good at all. I much prefer my wedge shafts to be heavier.

 

if you like the 105, avoid the 120. Completely different profile.
 

the new modus 115 may also be a good choice in stiff or x ssx2, but I haven’t tried them. The 115 wedge flex plays really soft.

Thanks for the detailed post that very good info. The 125 isn't a custom fit option from anywhere online unfortunately.
