Same here. I much prefer the solid line for alignment. Always have had trouble and been averse to the dots.

I like the older one ever so much better, the new one seems longer? Of course, my tastes will probably change very quickly. I remember thinking how much I hated the new 921 tours compared to 919, but now I can't even look at the 919's because they look "old."

Just went into my local shop and they had no idea about this launching soon, they had to ring their rep from Taylormade to confirm. Golfwrx providing the info before the retailers knew themselves haha!

I wonder if the delayed release on these is to do with none of the pros puttimg them in play. Seems like they are either going with the existing model or non TM guys are playing the new 2 ball ten.

See these up for pre order on Rockbottom golf just got the email. Looks like there's tons of different putters including last model spider x with the new finish for 279.

Very disappointed in TMAG for not offering the standard, yet upgraded,  Spider X in traditional slant neck. Instead of fixing something was a really, really good but had a small flaw, they just went bananas and created a bunch of mumbo-jumbo. All they needed to do was take the Spider X models, toss the new face insert and put hydroblast paint. However, they left the face the same and took away the best hosel configuration. Extremely disappointed.

May be in the minority, but wish TM would offer the EX with just the dots, or with no dots or rails. Loved my original Spider Tour Red JDay version with no sight line. Hate having to go the custom route.

The hydroblast is really appealing.  Everyone I know with a Spider has paint chips all over it.

 

The alignment scheme on the new Spider is really busy.

This, so this...... I am yuuuuuge Spider fan, love the Tour and X. Solely game both and seeing these, just a completely turnoff. Was hoping for the same, small slant with the new paint and nope!

It is really strange that they make a new durable coating and don't offer it in one of the most popular necks.

Has anybody rolled the new Spider X with flowneck and compared it to the short slant? I loved the short slant but ordered the flowneck and think I’m going to really like it. However I do wish it had a black shaft.

Really disappointed they didn't make the navy ex in a flow neck as well. Why make every color with every neck except that one combo?!

 

Anywho, anyone roll these yet? Curious to hear how the new ex insert is vs the x. Hoping the aluminum insert addition gives it a little more of a pop

I've rolled the ex a few times now.  Im considering swapping out my newport 2.5 for it and have been looking at toe hang mallets for a while including the spider x.  With other options I thought the feel I like wasnt really there compared to the scotty, but I have to say that the insert in the ex is the closest Ive come across so far to what Im used to - nice pop and feedback which I think is important for distance control.  I was very happy with the stability of my stroke and the alignment features.  I didnt even need to use the line on my ball anymore it was so easy with this putter.  So looks like its going in the bag.

 

If I had any criticisms it would be lack of grip options and the high price.

Thanks! I have always struggled with the insert type of putters as I am more of a milled face guy. Don't really prefer the soft feel but I have always enjoyed the shape and stroke with a spider. If the EX is providing a little more of that pop that you are mentioning then I may have to give it a try. Thanks again!

My Hydroblast X with the flow neck got delivered today. Can't wait to roll it on the greens once the snow melts but it's everything I hoped for on my practice mat.
