Alta Mesa CC vs Mesa CC

I don't have a bunch to offer but so far you have crickets. I live on the Alta Mesa CC course but have never played it. Only been here a year. It looks like a nicely maintained course with 6-8 large water hazards and nice bunkering. Palm trees come into play as well. I think it stretches out to 7000 yards if that matters. Seems like an active membership but not overly crowded. Lots of private carts...not unusual to see 4 carts in a foursome. I think it is easily walkable and is flat. You do cross some streets as you wind your way through the property. It seems pretty open in that it isn't lined with homes on both sides of the fairways. There are some like that however.  Check out Google Earth, it gives you a feel for the layout. Hope that helps some. Cheers!

I have only practiced at the back end of Alta Mesa a few times visiting my swing coach who lives on the course in the winter months. Nice range and great short game area.

Can’t speak to anything else unfortunately even though my uncle lived on Mesa for 2 years and now is on Alta Mesa (he doesn’t golf so I never play those courses when I visit).

Played both and I prefer the design of Mesa Cc much more than Alta Mesa, Mesa is one of my favorite courses in the valley.  Alta Mesa had much better practice facilities and overall course conditions, but there were a few holes that were kind of lame, layout made me feel like I was playing in Florida.

I was a member at Mesa CC for 6 months..It's a good course but the range sucks....short game area is decent and they have a practice hole...I forget the yardage but I think it's somewhere around 110 yards?  Could be wrong.  The complaint I have on the course is that it feels repetitive on the tee shot.  Holes are either straight or require a draw.  There are some fun holes though...4, 5, 9, 13, and 15 are good...and a couple dumb ones imo such as 6 and 14.  The membership is pretty cool though...not too many of the snobby types there which is nice for sure and there are some good players there as well.

Thanks for all the advice, now I think I'm going to add Las Sendas to the option of clubs to join. Thanks again!

Las Sendas?   Not a good option - it is such a bad course; the facilities for practice are not good; and it is a public course.

Played Las Sendas and agree with above, greens were not great. Lots of ball marks everywhere, papago has better greens but papago is a pretty great muni.

Unfortunately both are on wait lists for juniors. Also Mesa CC jacked up their rates so it looks like I'm leaning towards Alta Mesa but won't be able to join for a while...
