It’s a course that suits Rory and morning starters got by far the best conditions but if he can keep rolling the putts in like he did this morning he’ll be a different player.

He confirmed earlier in the week that it was Peter Millar shirts that he was wearing. Sourced and paid for them himself (well I am sure that someone on his team sourced them) and had the Citi logo added on there. There were some pictures earlier in the week in which you could see the little Peter Millar crown on the back of the shirt near the neck.

Bet he signs a deal with them soon. As soon as RL dropped him, I expected Peter Millar to be his go to, if not Footjoy.

I had thought that FootJoy would have been the stop gap in between signing with someone else. I thought that simply based on the pre-existing relationship. Peter Millar certainly seems like a good fit for him.

Great round by Rory, Fleetwood with a little hot stretch, Hatton sort of hanging in. Windy and fairways running out, lots of shots from the rough but if you can fly them in the hole no need to worry about spin!

I pulling for Lipsky to win!  Best USA showing on the leaderboard now, 3 back of Rors. Lipsky at 225 on the OWGR and with this win 'might' get to the 2021 Masters. He's a great gamer, Northwestern Univ grad, pals with Luke Donald, from SoCal and has 3 Euro wins and 1 Asian tour win.

 

I met him during a Asian tour tourney in Hua Hin Thailand; a very likable bloke who loves his golf.  His folks are Korean/Jewish. 

 

I totally agree with his comment for the cause of occasional failure: 'doubt is the killer'.  I CAN RELATE!! 

 

Go David. Banish the doubt and take the goofy trophy (and the cash).

He's a really, really good closer.

Can't think of many better currently, and up there with Rahm as the top European.

I don't think he gets his full recognition - he's a very ordinary, normal looking person and golfer. Maybe that counts against him.

Rory fighting his game a bit and putts not rolling. Hatton a great leader, rolled in some amount of putts today. Rory mentioned afterward that he’s managing his game a bit and not striking it that well, hence lack of consistency. Personally thought all he needed today was to roll in more putts and wouldn’t have had to push as hard, poor 3 putt bogey on par 3 and missed 8 foot for birdie at next let Hatton back in when he looked very shaky early on. On his part had 3 amazing up and downs early to save par to keep pressure on Rory.

Lipsky ties at 5th place, -11.  Hatton wins at -18.  Rors 3rd at -13.

 

Good payday for everyone, but some 'need' it more than others. 

 

Will be curious to see the OWGR tomorrow to see who moved and how much.

Great win for Tyrrell. Was ice cold when needed. 

 

Rory looked like he was out of sync. In round 1 and 3 where he had the shorter backswing and sawn off follow through hooked up. He looked untouchable. But today he looked to be fighting it amd forcing his old full follow through to fight against going right. 

 

His swing looks like its going in the right direction and generally more under control. I think once/if he gets it going more consistently he could be almost unbeatable.

So Tyrrell attends his first anger management meeting  early in the week, and wins walking away.  Tommy Fleetwood will need extra chairs for next weeks meeting.
