Apparel Landing Spot for JT?

JT just seems so boring. I don’t see him being a person who can push clothing. Nike offerings also don’t line up with his pretentious country club image. Titleist, foot joy, polo (former)...guy is a dweeb. Amazing golfer but a dweeb.

If they weren't going bankrupt, I'd say Brooks Brothers.

Depends on the brand. If he wears certain brands items, it increases their exposure. Van Rooyen increased the exposure of Greyson, and JT is way more likely to get time on TV than van Rooyen.

Also on Van Rooyen and it isn’t clothing related, but look at what he did for Vice golf balls

This photo is from today, RLX is gone. Glad that they are. Looks like the shirt is completely unbranded save the Citi logo on his sleeve. I had kinda thought that JT would end up with FJ as a short term solution but I couldn’t see it as a long term solution.

My view is that Greyson would be a great fit for him. The massive wolf logo on some of the jumpers I find a little ridiculous (and I won’t get started on the joggers) but generally speaking, it seems to be similar in style to RLX and RLX, with a sprinkling of slightly edgier designs. The other option might be something like KJUS. Now that they are part of the Titleist family, you would think that they would be looking for a name to attach to the brand to get it out there a little more.

Also, I simply cannot understand those that are saying that RL and JT were not a good fit, it was brilliant. I was big fans of both. I have been buying RL for years and no doubt bought more because of seeing JT wear some of the styles. That for me though is now over. I won’t be throwing my RL stuff away but I won’t be buying it any longer.

He's a 135lb, shapeless golfer that is impossible to fit properly because of that. He doesn't move clothing. What he does wear makes the clothing look ill-fitted and unappealing.

Apparently being in shape and not having a gut hanging out is considered shapeless and therefore, does not move clothing?

I guess Tim Herron and Laura Davies must be printing money for their clothing sponsors.

Literally, many people (just in this thread) have said that they bought and wore RLX because of JT.

In shape? He's as average as one gets "shape" wise. If that's in shape, I'm fearful of how lazy people must be to consider JT to be "in shape." He's a 135lb skinny fat dude.

We could have said the same about the opposites of Rahm. Out of shape golfer in the most hideous clothes adidas ever made. No one thought hey this guy looks great, yet he just got a new apparel deal..

Don't get me started on Rahm. Someone needs to fire his stylist.

One. I saw ONE person who said they bought a RL shirt because they saw JT wearing it in this thread. That's your description of "many?" I like JT. I love watching him play even though he can be annoying. He's just one of the last people I would look for to promote a clothing line.

Really not a big deal, but I counted 2 and you could put me in that category as well. I won't stop buying RLX, but I liked the brand more because of him promoting it. Not certain of your point though. You disagree that JT helped selling RLX which couldn't be further from the truth.

The fly in the ointment of that, is that until Friday, he was the number one person that Ralph Lauren chose to promote their golf clothing line. Sure, it’s a pretty small subsection of their overall brand but he was the one they chose to promote it and I am sure that there will be plenty of others that will now come in to look for him to promote the line.

I saw just as many pictures promoting Horshel with the brand as JT.

I saw an awful lot more of JT on television and standing with trophies at the end of the week than I did Billy.

I agree, but that's not RL promoting him.

Promotion is exposure, RL got an awful lot more promotion from JT that they do from Herschel
