Does anyone know the sizes in CC for Gen4 3 and 5 woods? The site doesn’t list it and I can’t seem to find it anywhere. Curious to know how big/small they are compared to the Sim2 Ti fairways I’m gaming. We’re not getting along so I’m searching for replacements.

exact size im not sure but my gen4 3w should be here Thursday..... my guess is it will be slightly larger than Sim2 Ti. I know Sim2 is smaller than original Sim

The Gen 4 X has gotten the top spot in my bag at this point, and it has been great with each additional round I play with it.  I moved from the Proto X set at 10.5º to the Gen 4 X set at 9.5º, small - and it has been a great option for me.  I can easily hit it either way.

I have a fitting on Tuesday to play with shafts in the driver and to see about a Proto hybrid, but I will hit the Gen 4 hybrid as well.  PXG has made some nice improvements from release to release, but you have to dial them in to realize the maximum gains.

Just picked up a Gen4 X from PXG Express. With all this talk of it being a straight flight and maybe can be turned over easier than the Proto, it was a win, win for me.

My Proto has finally made it to BST.

Nice I seen your ad yesterday I guess it was. I finally got another round on course with my two drivers and today the Gen4 was the winner today. I hit some pretty long ones with it and I think the taller face gives me a little more confidence than the Cobra. Have another 2 day tourney next weekend and it will have the #1 spot in the bag so hoping it performs like it did today.

The Gen 4 has pretty much knocked the Proto out of the bag and I was hitting that better than I even have - I am hoping my fitting on Tuesday can yield some more yards with a shaft change, but it is pretty good right now.  The only bummer is this life-long drawer of the ball can not hit a draw with it, and I do not want to weight the heel 🙂   It is easy to hit straight or a fade though.

I forgot to mention my set up with the GEN4 is standard loft setting at 10.5, stock heavy weight front, 2.5g back and 5g heel. It has the Hzrdus Smoke Green PVD finish 60 stiff, playing at 45” and Golf Pride Align NDMC White/Green grip.

What are the stock weights in the Gen4 X head? Picked up my driver from PXG Express with a Riptide CB shaft. Not using that shaft, but the deal was too sweet. Hope to get it soon.

Want to play mine at 45” with a Diamana S+.

Mine with that same shaft came with 10-2.5-2.5

I Hit it OK with those weights but it was really light. To change the swing weight to match the Proto - I would need to add about 6g to the head but the overall weight was nearly similar with the 3 SW difference, so I am using 12.5g front and 2.5g in the other two.  I am still learning this thing though.  Yesterday was pretty much all fades and today It was straight with a few a little too much right.

The one consistent though is the near center strikes no matter what happens.

They come 10g heavy weight due to additional 1/2" shaft length.

That's correct SW if you had them shorten the shaft 1/2" and kept the 10g in front instead of the 15g sent with the early Protos. Someone mentioned that PXG confirmed they switched to 10g on all driver orders, Protos & Gen4, a few months back. I know my Gen4 X & XT came with 10g front. Not a big deal if you have weight kits, like I know we all do.

Had my fitting today for the Gen 4 X driver and a hybrid.  For the driver I tried the Graphite Design Tour AD TP, and Tour AD VR, along with Fujikura Ventus Blue and the Speeder EVO V.

The shaft I have in the club now is the Riptide CB 50g 6.0S, and I really like that shaft - just wanted to see if there is anything else out there to gain consistency and/or distance.

First up was the Tour AD TP - first shot after hitting my gamer was a bit off center but decent, then I proceeded to center this one with a nice flight - high and straight into a decent wind.

Next move was to Ventus Blue - I was anxious to hit this shaft that everyone loves - this was a disaster.  I liked the feel of the shaft but I was all over the place and my old miss - the low left snapper - reappeared.  We diverted from this one

Next up was the Tour AD VR - I liked the feel of this one, and it kind of felt mid-way between the Ventus Blue and Tour AD TP -> a bit more "feel" than the TP, but not as loose as the Ventus.  I hit some really nice shots with this one, but when I go after a shot I get handsy and need more stiffness in the tip - I am not your average Golf WRXer with a 235mph club speed 🙂, I just get handsy.

Retested Tour AD TP and it was still the same - center strikes and nice flight no matter what I did - swing easy or go after it.

Last one to try was the Speed EVO V - this one was pretty good and much more to my liking than the Ventus but it had very little feel for me and I was a bit more errant than the Tour AD TP.  By feel, I mean me being able to feel that I have a golf club in my hand and to be able to detect shaft flexing - if I can not "feel" the club then I overswing and that produces the S*$t ball 🙂

One last confirmation on the Tour AD TP and that one was done.  I really like this shaft

For the hybrid I was intending to hit the Proto but we just went with the Gen 4 22º set at small minus for 21º - I hit the Tour AD DI shaft and it was loose feeling to me, as it has been in the past.  KBS hybrid shaft and it just does not feel good to me.  The winner was the Tensei CK Pro blue - centered the club every time with a really nice flight.

My idea of success is contact and dispersion.  Distance needs to be there, but the important thing is when I swing like me, I want to center the club most of the time.  This equals less lost balls and more enjoyment 🙂  I have to say the Gen 4 line that I have hit so far are winners.  There was time to hit more, but I declined.  PXG's fitting experience is awesome.  Now I have to suffer through watching the progress of the shaft and hybrid to my door 🙂

Great writeup. Thanks for sharing.

Your fitting was a lot like mine in regards to those shafts. Loved the AD TP and hated the Ventus. Had the TP in my Proto for the longest time until I got bored and read too many forums on ere and started switching like a knucklehead. Bet that hybrid is going to be really good.

Congrats on the fitting. Have my Gen 4 X 10.5 being delivered today.  Cannot wait until my Sunday round.

Can someone who likes the Ventus Blue, tell me what does the shaft feel like to you and how do you swing.  Like I said I am not a normal GolfWRXer and only swing it in the upper 90's and was swinging an S flex Ventus Blue.

Also, can someone tell me if we have the flex zones of Butt, Mid, Tip - how do those relate to feel?  I can not find anything.  The Tour AD TP is Firm, Firm, Stiff.  I would love to see an article that can relate those zones to feel and flight.
