I am wondering what the Gen 3 FW and Hybrids will look like - apparently we have about a week until we see them.  The big question is, how many of the bigger weights will they use?  Front and back, or maybe two in the back and 1 in the front?  Rounded leading edge, versus the current flat?

 

Two weights along the back edge would allow a left/right bias versus just a front/back  launch/spin adjustment.  Will be fun to see.

Well the Gen 3 FWs and Hybrids have dropped and indeed they are 1 weight forward and 2 back - I am sure the review videos will drop today as well

The new Proto hybrid looks a lot like the 0211 with more adjustability.

Going to get a Proto 3 wood. At $299, that is pretty good.

Let us know how it goes.  As far as the hybrids, that will be interesting too - I think they will have a hard time improving on the Gen 2s - those weights are so effective in controlling strike and ball flight conditions.

Will do. I just don’t see me changing from my Gen2 hybrid, they are just so good. But, after some reviews get out there you never know...

You will have no issues identifying the Gen4 driver on tv, that’s for sure.

Pro's can get that toe hot melted for mass and balance, for me to adjust easily, the toe weight port is critical. I also like the face alignment white stamps on the new Gen 4. My proto+ is safe in the bag until SIM 2 arrives...

I have no clue the tech in the Gen 4 driver, but what if they default the toe weight higher than normal, and they balance it with the other weights - therefore - saving the fourth weight port.  I am not advocating it since I feel the proto Driver weight setup is the bomb.  From an engineering standpoint, I think you can duplicate the Proto setup with one less weight port, but bumping up the weighting of the head with no weights by adding weight in the toe.  Yes that only works to a certain extent depending on the head toe weighting.

 

Since most pros miss left, I find it hard to believe that they would build what looks to be a draw biased driver head.  Time will tell what they did

I checked with our local PXG rep / fitter they don't have GEN4 drivers or woods in stock. They should arrive end of the month earliest.

I am getting 2 Proto hybrids and a driver. Should be in next Monday. I loved the Gen 2 hybrids but I held out on buying them. They look like they should be at least as good considering they have the same basic design except the toe is square. Really looking forward to getting all 3. I'll post some results here after spending some time on Trackman.

Does anyone know what difference the square toe makes? PXG says it's to enlarge face area for forgiveness but I don't know if there are other effects that can have.

Anyone happen to have seen the new Bat Attack in person or better yet have some actual feedback?  I really want to order one with a plumbers neck (ala Xander) but trying to hold off until I can see what it would look like.

Gen 4 woods & irons are the best we’ve made and just around the corner. I’ve been told sometime in March.  Also, I’ve heard that the drivers are more silver than white as the photos online didn’t pick up the color correctly. We had an online seminar about the product and the GEN4 irons are really exciting with what they have done.

Agreed...not sure what the video tells us about the irons except what they might have planned weight wise in the back....the woods obviously look like the pictures we have seen

My fitter said the same, that they will be hard to beat. Told me to wait to hit the Gen 4 stuff before settling on the 0211ST and Proto woods.

I'm not sure how much more yardage you'll get over the Protos since they're similar in design. But I will test and see sooner than later.

Not yet, but I’m damn close to ordering one!  It looks awesome.  I’m definitely ordering one with the plumber’s neck.  Will prob place my order by end of week.
